Abstract

R factor = 0.045; wR factor = 0.104; data-to-parameter ratio = 19.5. In the title mononuclear zinc(II) complex, [ZnCl2(C14H20-N 2O)] H 2O, the Zn II atom is four-coordinated by the phenolate O and imine N atoms of the Schiff base ligand and by two Cl atoms in a tetrahedral geometry. In the crystal structure, O—H Cl, O—H O and N—H O hydrogen bonds involving the water molecules bridge adjacent complexes into a ladder-like structure running along the c axis.
