Travel and tourism are considered the most popular form of individual enjoyment in the countries of origin of the visitors. Despite this fact, the consequences of the steady growing tourism are often criticised by the citizens of these same countries. The ephemeral nature of the tourism phenomenon is a cause of insecurity; moreover, it is often subject to misleading, emotional and even ideologically-inspired interpretations.
