Abstract

Abstract (aim, method, results) The aim is to study the logistics consequences of the development of E-commerce for physical products. This will be studied with a Supply Chain view from three different but interconnected perspectives. The shipper perspective concerns the development and organisation of logistics platforms, which will be described and analysed in terms of their effectiveness in electronic commerce. The transport and logistic provider perspective concerns the design and the analyses of different concepts for the physical distribution. The interrelation between these concepts and the flow structure and the information systems along the Supply Chain are to be defined. The environmental perspective is base on the sustainable requirement on the design and operation of packing logistics. The different actors of interest are those actives in the Supply Chain from producers, retailers, and forwarders to consumers. The results are to be implemented or tested on and together with the participating companies. CHALMERS TEKNISKA HÖGSKOL
