The Evaluation of E-Commerce Applications - A Conceptual Framework

The increasingly popular use of E-Commerce (EC) models make it possible for a growing number of organisations to gain access to the vast market place offered by the Web. However, the wide array of applications that support EC models make selection of an appropriate tool difficult for many enterprises. This paper offers a conceptual framework, which can be used to evaluate EC applications. The framework is centred along three major domains: Management, Technology, and Human Interface. Various considerations for each of these major areas are combined to form the criteria against which EC applications can be evaluated.
