The school must provide evidence of need by focusing on improvement status; reading and math achievement results, as measured by the MEAP, Mi-Access or the MME; poverty level; and the school’s ability to leverage the resources currently available to the district. Refer to the school’s Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) School Data and Process Profile Summary report. 1. Explain how subgroups within the school are performing and possible areas to target for improvement. (The following charts contain information available in the School Data Profile and Analysis.) Over a three-year period, males performed consistently lower than females in meeting state proficiency standards. Last year, females scored 21 % higher than males in reading and 5 % higher than males in math. Both groups are performing below state averages. Males have a higher rate of absenteeism, due to suspensions and home issues. Lessenger/Dixon also has a number of students with incarcerated parents.
