Linear Betatron Coupling in SIS-18

The aim of the measurement was to study linear coupling with natural and external skew quadrupole components for low and high intensity beam as an extension of previous measurement in April 22, 2009 [1]. We studied space charge effects on the difference coupling resonance [2]. On the other hand we examined the relation between different external skew quadrupole strengths and the linear coupling stop band width. The measurement methods that we used to study the difference betatron coupling are emittance exchange, beam loss and tune Measurement. The diagnostic that we used are the residual gas monitor (RGM) to measure the transverse beam profiles and the emittance exchange due to crossing the coupling resonance. For beam losses we saved the signals from the Fast current transformer (TRAFO) on an external oscilloscope. We meaured with Schottky noise probe the real betatron tunes.
