Wh-questions in V-initial languages

Abstract

I still cannot believe that it’s been two years since I moved to Toronto, and that I have finished my forum paper. I have never written a paper of this size, even in Japanese, in my life. I have learned so many things in the last year through this work. The most valuable thing that I learned is the importance of my friends and my teachers. Without them, I would not have been able to finish this paper. And I feel hesitant to put only my name on the cover page of this paper and not theirs as well. I feel very lucky that I was able to study with good people at U of T, and I’d like to thank everyone I met at the Department of Linguistics over the last two years. Elizabeth Cowper, my forum advisor, is certainly the person who I would like to thank first and most. Without Elizabeth’s supervision, I could not handle writing this paper.
