Industrial Inspection is concerned with all aspects of controlling product quality. However, the tools and techniques for controlling quality, which sufficed during the mechanized manufacturing era, are lacking when solely applied to today’s modern manufacturing environment. The use of automated visual inspection can address many of the current quality control needs by employing different approaches. In this project an approach of Automated Tolerance Inspection will be evaluated to see whether it is reliable, consistent, robust and applicable to the industrial environment. The Automated Tolerance Inspection method proposed in this project, uses parametric representations to model and inspect the objects. It is seen that the robustness of the proposed solution is only in Euclidean transformations. However rotational transformations had a negative effect on the regeneration of the model to be tested. Also an SPC Module executable is developed to track the systems performance real-time.
