This reflection article addresses the issue of contribution
to the development of community libraries
based on the social responsibility of universities.
The specific case is the intervention project at
the Suba Community Libraries Network, which is
based on three fundamental lines: 1) University
social responsibility; 2) the networks, organization
and community participation, and 3) materialization
in an educational and cultural project of great
impact for the city, such as the Suba Community
Libraries Network. First of all, the intervention project
is contextualized, and some conceptual clarifications
and articulating links related to social
responsibility, community organization and community
public libraries are proposed; then, an
account of the methodology used for the development
of the project is made. Finally, the obtained
conclusions in connection with the intervention
process are established
