Documenting technical skills with PAPERCLIP at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland

By The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCAS) and JISC RSC Scotland

Abstract

Paperclip - Production and Performance e-Resource Collaborative Library of Interactive Publications – is an open source wiki developed as a solution to documenting the challenges and technical solutions that arose as part of the process of production throughput. Paperclip is now used to record many staging solutions, projects and a host of student generated handbooks. Students are supported by staff, industry professionals and peers in the continual development of this online resource. By using a very simple navigation category structure the students can easily link between production, projects, people and places and can not only reflect on how they personally arrive at solutions, but can also easily tap into the collective experience of others who have encountered similar challenges in the past.
