Abrasive wear of alloys for ground engaging tools

Abstract

The work highlights wear mechanisms of excavator digger teeth and its laboratory recreation using tumbler and scratch tests. Martensitic steels found to be better for coal mining whereas bainite showed higher wear resistance for iron ore mining as it involves impact.<br /
