Ethical Aspects of The Rebel by A. Camus

Abstract

U ovome radu prikazani su etički aspekti Camusova filozofskog eseja Pobunjeni čovjek. Upravo je etički aspekt ovoga djela od presudne važnosti jer njegov autor u njemu polazi od promišljanja opravdanosti ubojstva, pitanja kojega je u prvi plan postavilo vrijeme obilježeno totalitarnim ideologijama. Camus tako dolazi do koncepta pobune koji sačinjava osnovu za izgradnju vrijednosti, a na njemu se temelji i načelo granice te zahtjev za solidarnošću. Camus te vrijednosti pokušava vratiti svijetu, a prvenstveno onoj pobuni koja je izgubila odnos sa svojim korijenima, što se u prvom redu odnosi na revoluciju. Istinska pobuna u vremenu vladanja velikih ideja pojedincu vraća dostojanstvo te on odbija da ga se u ime tih ideja koristi kao sredstvo. Konačno, ovaj rad propituje mogućnost izgradnje Camusove etike.The thesis presents the ethical aspects of Camus’ philosophical essay entitled The Rebel. The ethical aspect is crucial in this work, since the author first starts pondering on the justification of murder, an issue that first became prominent in the period marked by totalitarian ideologies. From there, Camus proposes the concept of rebellion, which constitutes the foundation for developing values, and which serves as a base for the principle of border, and for the requirement for solidarity. Camus tries to bring back those values into the world, especially into the rebellion that has lost all relations with its roots, which primarily refers to the revolution. A true rebellion in a time of great ideas returns dignity to the individual and refuses to use him as a means for carrying out those ideas.
