Study on The Health-Promoting Lifestyles and The Related Factors among Public Health Nurses in Yilan county,Taiwan

Abstract
[[abstract]]The purpose of this study was to probe into the health-promoting lifestyles among public health nurses in Yilan county. It explored the relation with demographic variables, perceived health status and the predictors of the health-promoting lifestyles. The adopted instruments were health-promoting lifestyle profile, perceived health status scale and demographic data.
The Subjects were the public health nurses from 12 health station in Yilan county in 2008. A cross-sectional design was adopted and data were collected from 95 public nurses via self-reported questionnaires, which presented a 97% of the response rate. The data was analyzed by one way ANOVA, Pearson’s product- moment correlation and multiple regressions.
The major findings of the study were as follows:
1.In the health-promoting lifestyles, the highest score was the nutrition, followed by stressmanagement, self-actualization, health responsibility, exercise and interpersonal support both of the lowest for the score ; subjects perceived health status is above the medium degree.
2.The demographic variables, ages and perceived health status of the subjects had a positive correlation with the health-promoting lifestyles.
3.The demographic variables, ages and the perceived health status of the subjects were the significant predictors and explained 23.8% of the variance of health-promoting lifestyles.
According to the finding of this study, public health nurses in Yilan county whose best is the nutrition in health-promoting lifestyles; exercise and interpersonal support both of should be improved. Besides, the elders and have better self-perception health status would have better health-promotion lifestyle.
