Med udgangspunkt taget i den franske filosof Paul Ricoeur's bog "Oneself as Another" (Soi-même comme un autre) bliver der forklaret hvordan Ricoeur ser begrebet identitet. Fokus er på de fire dimensioner: language (sprog), time (tid), history (historie) og body (krop) samt ipse og idem som er to forskellige former for identite
