Purpose. Materials of the article aims to explore the peculiarities of speech education of servicemen and draw attention to opportunities of socially important speech for its use in educational process of higher educational institutions. Methodology. The article is based on the analysis revealed in the process of socio-pedagogical study of the works of the military rhetoric of various historical epochs.Results. The formation of communicative competence in military educational institutions should be carried out as a voice education in basic types of inspiration of the public speech. Practical implications. Development of the ability to speak with socially significant speech in the framework of the inspirations of the public speech should become a necessary element of the training of modern specialists, especially in the sphere of management and administrative activities
