Maps for adventure races

Abstract

The atractivity of adventure competitions is the reason for their apperance all over the world. Each race has its own characteristics, but what they all have in common is the use of maps for movement on the terrain. The maps used are very different and they do not allways serve their purpose. The goal of my diploma is to specificate the optimal map for an advanture competition. Many competitions have been held, not only abroad but also in Slovenia. The comparison of the maps used so far and the questionary anwsered by competitiors and organisators of the races, helped in creating a concept of an ideal map. The questionary was about the quality of the paper, colors used, the optimal map scale and format, etc
