Dynamic representations of the body in space

Abstract

Body representations are closely connected to representations of peripersonal space, which is immediately surrounding the body. This dissertation investigates the dynamic qualities of body and space representations, as well as their interactions. In the first part (studies 1 and 2), effects of changes in body representations on the representations of peripersonal space are examined. The second part (studies 3 and 4) is dedicated to the necessary and sufficient preconditions for alterations in body representations
