Bringing the Mountains into the City: Legacy of the Winter Olympics, Turin 2006

Abstract

This chapter of a handbook of Olympic studies is devoted to 20th Olympic Games, Turin 2006. In particular, the text is focused on the spatial model of the Games, that were characterised by a dual location of Olympic venues: in the city and in the upper part of two apine valleys. This situation created a complex relationship between the two areas and different types of legacy in each spatial context.
