Abstract

BETWEEN 318 PATIENTS WITH NHL OBSERVED, 145 (45,6%) HAD A PRIMARY EXTRANODAL DISEASE. THE GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT WAS THE MOST FREQUENT PRIMARY LOCATION AND COMMONEST SITE OF PRESENTATION WAS THE STOMACH (42,1%). THE HEAD AND NECK NHL FOLLOWED (33,8%) MAINLY REPRESENTED BY THE TONSILAR LYMPHOMA (15,8%). THE MOST FREQUENT HISTOLOGICAL TYPE AND STATE WERE THE INTERMEDIATE GRADE (65,5%) AND STATE I (51%). THE REEVALUATION PROCEDURE AFTER TREATMENTS SHOWED 119 PATIENTSIN COMPLETE REMISSION (82,1%). THE 36/119 RELAPSED (30,2%) AND 20/36 WITH A DISTANT EXTRANODAL INVOLVEMENT. FACTORS OF PROGNOSTIC SIGNIFICANCE FOR SURVIVAL WERE THE STAGE, THE HISTOLOGICAL TYPE AND THE SITE LOCATION OF THE EN-NHL. THE SURVIVAL RATE AT 5 YEARS WAS 40% FOR NODAL NHL AND 65% FOR EXTRANODAL NHL.
