The Effect of Technological Innovation on Co2 Emissions in OECD Countries: Using Panel Regression

In this study, we are trying to find out that the environmental changes that are taking place due to the impact of CO2 have a negative impact on the environment of the (OECD) countries. And our goal is to see if technology changes and developments in general have an impact on the environment and how countries' environments can be cleaned up because of technology developments, that work as an organization for this purpose. So, we rely on ways to achieve our results as well as using (Panel regression). And based on data from several countries. We used this model (CADF, ADF, DF, GDP, GDP2, PATENT, INV, RE, TE). We found out the effect of the development of patents (Technological innovation) on CO2 emissions is positive, indicating that technological innovation is not worthwhile for the mitigation of carbon emissions in the selected (OECD) countries

Impact of Exchange Rate Regimes and Euro Area Membership on the Economic Growth of the New Member States from Central and Eastern Europe

The goal of this paper is to study the effects of exchange rate arrangements and euro area (EA) membership on the economic growth of ten new member states (NMS) from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), which joined the European Union (EU) in 2004 and 2007 โ€“ the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Romania. Croatia is excluded from the analysis since it became a EU member relatively late - in 2013. A vector autoregression (VAR) of annual data for the period 2007-2017 is employed. The empirical results provide statistical evidence that flexible exchange rates and EA membership favor the economic growth of the NMS from CEE

Volatility Spillovers from US to Emerging Seven Stock Markets: Pre & Post Analysis of GFC

This study is conducted to check volatility spillovers from US to Emerging seven stock markets before and after the Global Financial Crisis through the VAR-GARCH model. The pre GFC sub sample data ranges from January 8, 2002 to June 29, 2007 and Post GFC data starts from July 4, 2009 to December 28, 2014. The outcomes of the VAR-GARCH model show that there are significant volatility spillovers from US stock market to emerging seven stock markets in most cases. The correlations reveal that the US stock market is strongly correlated with the Brazilian stock exchange, Mexican stock exchange and Russian stock exchange. These findings suggest that the investors may consider geographical proximity into consideration. The empirical results also mention that the Chinese stock market, Indonesian stock market and Indian stock market have less effect by the volatility spillovers from US stock market. The findings also demonstrate that Brazilian, Mexican and Russian stock markets observed rapid increase in the CCC with the US market

Analyzing the Effect of Employment in the Agricultural and Industrial Sectors on Economic Growth with the ARDL Bounds Test

One of the important indicators determining the welfare level of a country is its Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, many parameters affect GDP, and employment in agriculture and industry sectors constitute two of them. This study aims to determine the effect of employment in the agricultural and industrial sectors on economic growth in Turkey with the ARDL bounds test. Turkey's employment rate in the agricultural and industrial sectors of the years 2000-2019 and GDP data were used as material. According to the ARDL model, it was determined that there is a long-term positive relationship between A_Employment and I_Employment and GDP. It was also observed that there was no structural break in the variables. With the Toda-Yamamoto test, a one-way causality relationship from A_Employment to GDP and a two-way causality relationship between S_ employment and GDP were determined. As a result, although about 20% of total employment in Turkey is in the agricultural sector labor productivity is quite low. This situation leads to an increase in the urban population and thus a decrease in employment in agriculture. Therefore, it is recommended that economic policies be developed to increase labor productivity in the agricultural sector

The research has been conducted by analyzing the academiciansโ€™ profiles of first 15 and last 15 universities of the โ€œIndex of Entrepreneur and Innovative Universitiesโ€ which is announced by TUBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey). This index presents the innovation performances of universities. The academiciansโ€™ profiles have been analyzed through their diverse specialties and its relevance with the ranking of the universities. The diversity factors of academicians were determined as gender, title, educational background, overseas experience and work experience as a result of resume database scanning. Obtained data were analyzed in SPSS 15.0 for Windows for presenting the relationship between innovation performance and organizational diversity. As a result, there is a significant relationship between overseas experience, educational background of academics and innovation performances in universities.  Key words: Organizational diversity, organizational innovation, innovation performance, academics, academic entrepreneurship,  diversity managemen

A Descriptive Research on the Evaluation of Knowledge Management Themed Publications

Knowledge management is an important business which has technical and social dimensions, and directs the future of organizations. However, knowledge management is often perceived as the field of information technology experts and managers. The fact that the concept cannot be clearly separated from similar ones has a negative impact on knowledge management processes. In other words, although widespread use of information systems and big data analyzes play an active role in decision-making processes; it is thought that knowledge without social dimension will be insufficient. In this context, a study has been designed to determine the focus of researches on knowledge management. First, publications in the field of โ€œknowledge managementโ€ were searched through the university online library (lib.ikc.edu.tr). The distribution of these studies according to the different scientific areas was determined and the studies focusing on knowledge management, in the field of business & management within the scope of social sciences, were examined. Then, to make a comparison, in all issues of the Academy of Management Journal, which have the highest impact factor in the field of business and management, publications with keyword "knowledge management" have been reached and within these publications keywords which are used together with knowledge management have been analyzed. In addition, within the scope of the study, the publications were evaluated according to their subjects and years, and the differences were explained between general literature and Academy of Management Journal. According to the findings, it is possible to say that the technical dimension of knowledge management is studied more frequently than the social dimension in general business & management literature. In the Academy of Management Journal, it is seen that the social dimension of knowledge management is studied more frequently than the technical dimension

Interest Rates: The Cause or The Result? A Chicken and Egg Problem Revisited (The Relationship between Interest Rates and Inflation in Turkey)

This paper investigates the validity of Fisherโ€™s hypothesis and neo-Fisherian approach for Turkey using cointegration of Pesaran et al. (2001) as well as the methodology of Granger causality developed by Toda and Yamamoto (1995). The scope of the study focuses on flexible inflation targeting period in Turkey. Inflation uncertainty is estimated by employing the GARCH model for the period 2010:M10-2020:M5. Empirical results indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between nominal interest rates, expected inflation and inflation uncertainty in the long run. The results of Toda and Yamamoto causality suggests that inflation ucertainty and expected inflation effects nominal interest rates. Also inflation is affected by nominal interest rates. The empirical results indicating two way causality provides significant empirical evidence for the presence of the Neo- Fisher effect in addition to the Fisherโ€™s hypothesis during the flexible inflation targeting period analyzed in Turkey
