    Pola Pencarian Informasi Penderita Depresi Dalam Memenuhi Kebutuhan Informasi Kesehatan Mental

    This study aims to find out the model of information search process are carried out by depression sufferers at Cahaya Bunda Cirebon Mother Children Hospital to obtain information, especially regarding mental health by using the information seeking behavior model by Kuhlthau known as ISP (Information Search Process). The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results of the study show that the construction that depression sufferers go through from the stage of uncertainty to understanding and in this search for information there are 6 (six) stages, namely (1) The initial stage, aware of the need for information so that the search for information is motivated by motivation in searching for information; (2) Topic Selection Stage; (3) Information Search Stage; (4) Crosscheck and validation stages to expert individuals including psychologists/psychiatrists; (5) Collection Stage, collecting information that has been sorted; and (6) Final Stage, characterized by storing information for oneself and the emergence of feelings of satisfaction and relief. The conclusion from the results of this study is that it is known that the depressed sufferers studied have a model of information search process according to the characteristics of the depressed sufferers and is sufficient to help them to obtain and use mental health information

    Perpustakaan universitas adalah lembaga pendukung yang didirikan untuk mendukung kegiatan civitas akademika universitas tempatnya berada. Kebijakan perpustakaan universitas menyatakan bahwa perpustakaan Pendidikan tinggi merupakan bagian dari kegiatan penunjang pendidikan tinggi. Dengan adanya perpustakaan, perguruan tinggi dapat memenuhi kewajibannya terhadap warganya. Tujuan daripenelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui bagaimana antusias masyakarat universitas diponegoro terhadap perpustakaan fakultas dan universitas. Digunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif untuk penelitian ini yang mana melewati pendekatan kuisioner. Hasil dari penelitiani ni, sebagian besar responden merasa bahwa perpustakaan fakultas maupun universitas belum cukup untuk merekamanfaatkan atau mereka kunjungi. Meskipunbegitu, setiap perpustakaan memiliki keunggulannya masing-masing dan pemustaka dapat menentukan pilihannya sendirri, mana yang akan dikunjungi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasinya. Penelitian ini memang tidak sempurna tetapi diharapkan dapat bermanfaat bagi para pustakawan fakultas dan universitas untuk mengevaluasi dan mengembangkan perpustakaan masing-masing. 

    Looking Beyond The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR): Implications and Prospects for Nigerian Academics

    The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) has brought about significant changes in various aspects of society, including education. This study aims to explore the implications and prospects of the 4IR for Nigerian academics. A qualitative research approach was used, and an online open-ended survey was conducted to gather data from Nigerian academics on their perceptions of the 4IR, the specific skills and knowledge areas they deemed important to succeed in the 4IR era, and their preparedness in these areas. The survey also aimed to explore the perceived opportunities and challenges of the 4IR for Nigerian academics and the role that higher education institutions could play in preparing them for the 4IR era. The data collected from the survey were analyzed thematically, and the study provided insights and conclusions that contributed to the existing literature on the implications and prospects of the 4IR for Nigerian academics. The results indicate that Nigerian academics perceive the 4IR as a significant opportunity, but they also recognize the challenges it presents. Participants identified several skills and knowledge areas as crucial for success in the 4IR era, including data analytics, critical thinking, and problem-solving. However, the study found that Nigerian academics feel inadequately prepared in these areas. The study highlights the need for higher education institutions to play a more significant role in preparing Nigerian academics for the 4IR era by developing new curricula, providing training opportunities, and creating partnerships with industry stakeholders. The findings of this study could inform policies and practices aimed at preparing Nigerian academics for the 4IR era, which could ultimately enhance Nigeria's economic growth and competitiveness in the global market.     Perkembangan di bidang teknologi perpustakaan, khususnya dalam penyimpanan dan penyerbarluasan informasi turut mendorong kesadaran institusi untuk meningkatkan sumber informasi yang mereka miliki. Salah satu sumber informasi yang disediakan oleh lembaga perguruan tinggi adalah repositori digital. Repositori Universitas Padjadjaran berfungsi sebagai sarana simpan, pelestarian, dan aksebilitas sumber informasi terhadap penelitian yang pernah disusun oleh sivitas akademika Universitas Padjadajran dan telah digunakan berulang kali oleh sivitas akademikanya. Mahasiswa membutuhkan sumber informasi yang bersifat ilmiah, dalam proses pengerjaan tugas perkuliahan, mahasiswa melakukan berbagai tahap dalam mencari informasi dengan caranya masing-masing untuk mendapatkan sumber informasi.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kebutuhan informasi akademik dengan perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa pada Repositori Universitas Padjadjaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menyebar kuesioner online kepada 140 responden yang merupakan mahasiswa aktif angkatan 2018 dan 2019 Program Studi Perpustakaan dan Sains Informasi Universitas Padjadjaran. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Berdasarkan data yang diolah, didapatkan konsep kebutuhan informasi akademik memiliki hubungan signifikan dengan perilaku pencarian informasi. Repositori Universitas Padjadjaran sudah mampu memberikan informasi yang valid dan dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan referensi untuk tugas perkuliahan kepada mahasiswa sebagai pengguna. Hal ini disebabkan Repositori Universitas Padjadjaran dianggap mahasiswa telah menyediakan informasi yang cukup berdasarkan dengan bentuk, cara penyajian, dan cakupannya

    This study aims to determine the implementation of the School Literacy Movement and the role of libraries and Special School librarians in the implementation of School Literacy Movement activities for blind students at SLBN-A Citeureup Kota Cimahi referring to the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 23 of 2015 concerning manners. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that (1) the role of the Special School library in the implementation of the School Literacy Movement at SLBN-A Citeureup is to provide facilities and infrastructure for residents in the school environment to carry out literacy by procuring a collection of books, learning CDs, and literacy supporting tools and placing a corner -reading corner in a strategic place. (2) the role of library staff in implementing School Literacy Movement at SLBN-A Citeureup is to become a facilitator in carrying out School Literacy Movement program policies and preparing everything related to the needs of School Literacy Movement activities in schools

    This research describes how the Library and Archives Service of West Java Province implements the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation program starting with preparations, strategies, policies, etc. By using qualitative methods with a case study approach. Researchers obtained primary data in this study through field observations, interviews, and notes on situations, conditions, and processes of the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation program. Researchers took secondary data in this study through scientific books, articles, journals, and previous studies. The results showed that the West Java Dispusipda had procedures in place when implementing the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation program through preparation, librarian training, program implementation, post-program advocacy, and evaluation. This institution also implements the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation program with a synergistic team of several government agencies and private institutions with the authority and capacity to succeed in this program. Constraints and obstacles experienced in running this program are 1. Lack of public understanding of the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation program; 2. The village head who does not take sides in the development of village information sources; 3. The community is still oriented towards government assistance

    Labelling books is one of the technical activities in the processing section of the library. This research is an initial study of the need to provide tools for labelling books, so as to provide convenience in the technical process of pairing bibliographic information in one book. The survey method was conducted on 21 librarians working in school libraries in West Java province. The results obtained were that every school librarian already had technical competence in processing library materials, and stated that they needed tools for the process of placing book labels. The librarians state that labelling is one of the library management activities to make the align collections or shelving easier for librarians so that collections can be accessible to library users. It is also beneficial for shelf reading to check if a library collection is improperly shelved and effectively locate missing or stolen books In addition to accessibility and shelf reading purposes, spine labels also give a sense of tidiness in the library because they are aligned and have the same size label used
