    UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENGGUNAKAN ALAT UKUR TEKNIK DENGAN METODE DRILL PADA SISWA KELAS X TKR 2 SMK N 1 SAWIT BOYOLALI TAHUN AJARAN 2014/2015

    The objective of this research is to improve the ability to use the technical measuring tools of the vernier caliper and micrometer through the application of the Drill Learning Method of the students in Grade X of Light Vehicle Engineering Department 2 of State Vocational High School 1 of Sawit, Boyolali through the application of the Drill Learning Method.This research is a classroom action research (CAR). The results show that through the application of the the Drill Learning Method can the ability to use the technical measuring tools of the vernier caliper and micrometer of pre-cycle to cycle I and II. The learning process in the pre-cycle using the conventional model so that the who fulfilled the minimum completeness criterion in using the vernier caliper is 40%. Following the treatment, it becomes 60% in Cycle I and 86% in Cycle II respectively. In addition, in the pre-cycle the percentage of the students whose competency in using the micrometer increased is 40%. Following the treatment, it becomes 63% in Cycle I and 83% in Cycle 2 respectively. The conclusions of this research is the application of the can improve the ability to use the technical measuring tools of the vernier caliper and micrometer of students of class X TKR 2 SMK N 1 Sawit Boyolal

    This study aims to: (1)Determine the effect of the addition of the element magnesium (Mg) in the aluminium casting on the level of hardness. (2) Determine the effect of the addition of the element magnesium (Mg) in the aluminium casting to micro structure. 3) Determine the effect of the addition of the element magnesium (Mg) in the aluminium casting on the level of impact strength. This study was descriptive research that clearly describes the results of experiments in the laboratory to some specimens. This method is implemented by providing independent variables intentionally to the object of study to know the effect on the dependent variable. The results showed three main things: (1) The more elements of magnesium (Mg) are added, the hardness value increased aluminium casting results.(2) The more elements of magnesium (Mg) is added, the grain size gets smaller aluminium casting results. (3) The more elements of magnesium (Mg) is added, then the impact strength aluminium casting results decline, but the decline is not too much

    The objectives of this research are: (1) to design and to develop Arduino Uno Microcontroller-based water injection on Motorcycle Honda Mega Pro 2009; (2) to identify the impact of the use of Arduino Uno Microcontroller-based water injection on the torque of Motorcycle Honda Mega Pro 2009; and (3) to identify the impact of the use of Arduino Uno Microcontroller-based water injection on the power of Motorcycle Honda Mega Pro 2009. This research used the descriptive quantitative method. The sample of research was Motorcycle Honda Mega Pro 2009. The data were obtained from the amount of torque and power of the motorcycle using pure premium fuel (standard) and Arduino Uno Microcontroller-based water injection with the compositions of A100 (100% aquades + 0% methanol), A90, A80, A70, A60, and A50. They were put in the table, presented in the form of graph and then analyzed. The results of research are as follows: 1) The design and development of Arduino Uno Microcontroller-based water injection can work and operate well on Motorcycle Honda MegaPro 2009. 2) The use of Arduino Uno Microcontroller-based water injection has impacts on the torque of Motorcycle Honda Mega Pro 2009. The best maximum torque produced was 13.13 Nm at 6097 rpm or the amount of the torque increased as much as 0.34 Nm or 2.65%, by using the water injection (A60). The worst maximum torque produced was 12.75 Nm at 6288 rpm by using water injection (A90), or it decreased as much as 0.04 Nm or 0.31% from the maximum torque produced by motorcycle without using the water injection (standard) whose power was 12.79 Nm at 5883 rpm. 3) The use of Arduino Uno Microcontroller-based water injection has impacts on the power of Motorcycle Honda Mega Pro 2009. The best maximum power produced was 12.6 HP at 7556 rpm or the amount of power increased as much as 0.2 HP or 1.61%, by using water injection (A60). Meanwhile, the worst maximum powers produced were 12.3 HP at 8115 rpm by using the water injection (A100) and 12.3 HP at 7517 rpm by using water injection (A70), or the power decreased as much as 0.1 HP or 0.80% from the maximum power produced by motorcycle without using the water injection (standard) whose power was 12.4 HP at 7446 rpm

    The purpose of this research is to improve the learning outcomes of students in Electrical Repair learning, especially at grade XI Automotive 9 Vocational High School Bhinneka Karya, Simo by applying the cooperative learning method of team quiz type. The research is a class action research. Research done in two cycles, every cycle consists of planning, the action, observation, and reflection. The subject of research is a student grade XI, Vocational High School Bhineka Karya, Simo consisting of 34 students. The data come from teachers and students. Data collection techniques taken from student learning results, based on cognitive aspects and student’s psychomotorat the applicants of cognitive learning model team quiz type. The research results showed that through the application Team Quiztypemethodcan improve student learning outcomes at each cycle (cycle I increased 3% and cycle II also increased 4%). The achievement of minimum attainment of students i.e. Students who scored above or equal to 75 is greater than 70%, in this research minimum attainment of students reached until 73%.     The aims of this research were: (1) To examine the effects of variated composition of corncob powder, brass powder (Cu-Zn), magnesium oxide (MgO), and polyester resin composites on the friction coefficient value in brake pads braking performance test by using Prony brake engine; (2) To investigate which brake pads compositions of corncob powder, brass powder (Cu-Zn), magnesium oxide (MgO), and polyester resin composites that has the highest friction coefficient value; (3) To compare the braking performance of corncob powder brake pads with Nissin brake pads. This research used descriptive and quantitative method. The sampling process was done by making three variations of brake pads compositions. Data were obtained by braking performance test using Prony brake engine then calculated using Prony brake formula. The calculation results were presented in tables and graphs, and then analyzed. The conclusions based on this research were: (1) The variated material compositions of brake pads gave effects on the friction coefficient value of the brake pads. This was indicated by the difference values of friction coefficient values for each brake pads compositions. The friction coefficient value of brake pads composition I which consisted of 20% corncob powder, 40% brass powder, 20% MgO, and 20% polyester resin was 0.342. The friction coefficient value of brake pads composition II which consisted of 30% corncob powder, 30% brass powder, 20% MgO, and 20% polyester resin was 0.395. The friction coefficient value of brake pads composition III which consisted of 40% corncob powder, 20% brass powder, 20% MgO, and 20% polyester resin was 0.354; (2) The most optimal brake pads composition which had the highest friction coefficient value was composition II 0.395 with a composition of 30% corncob powder, 30% brass powder, 20% MgO, and 20% polyester resin; (3) The brake pads with corncob powder material had a good braking performance. The friction coefficient values of all brake pads with corncob powder compositions were higher than Nissin brake pads

    The purpose of this research were: (1) To learn the effect of composition variations with materials bamboo powders, Aluminium (Al), magnesium oxide (MgO), and polyester resin toward the friction coefficient value at the braking performance test. (2) To learn the composition variation brake pad with material friction bamboo powders the most ideal friction coefficient value with Nissin brake pad as comparison. (3) To compaired braking power of car brake shoe with bamboo powders supplements as composite materials to standard Nissin brake pad. This study was an experimental study with descriptive quantitative data processing. Data were obtained by using prony brake engine braking performance test. The sample processed by making 3 composition of brake lining, each composition is made of 3 pieces of samples into (1A, 1B, 1C; 2A, 2B, 2C; 3A, 3B, 3C). Data obtained from the results of research put into a table and displayed in graphical form, then analyzed. Based on the result of this study concluded that: (1) Variations composition the brake lining effect on the value of friction coefficient in the braking performance test. The increasing percentage composition of bamboo powder, will lower the braking performance (friction coefficient) brake lining samples, as well as the increasing percentage of magnesium oxide (MgO) then also improve braking performance (friction coefficient). (2) The best friction coefficient is composition sample 1 with composition of 35% bamboo powder, aluminium 15%, MgO 35%, resin 15% by 0,404 friction coefficient value. (3) From the research results can be know that car brake shoe with bamboo powders supplements as composite materials have the good friction coefficient more than Nissin brake pad if the review from results the braking performance (friction coefficient)

    The objectives of this research are to improve: (1) the verbal communication of the students in Grade X of Automotive Engineering Department of State Vocational High School 5 of Surakarta through the application of the cooperative learning model of the STAD type in the education and training of Basic Automotive Technology in Academic Year 2014/2015, and (2) the learning creativity of the students in Grade X of Automotive Engineering Department of State Vocational High School 5 of Surakarta through the application of the cooperative learning model of the STAD type in the education and training of Basic Automotive Technology in Academic Year 2014/2015. This research used the classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four phases i.e. planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Its subjects were the students in Grade X of Automotive Engineering Department B of the aforementioned school. The data sources of research were the teacher and students of the school. They were collected through observation, in-depth interview, and documentation and analyzed by using the descriptive quantitative technique of analysis. The results of research are as follows:  1) The application of the cooperative learning model of the STAD type could improve the verbal communication of the students in Grade in Grade X of Automotive Engineering Department B of State Vocational High School 5 of Surakarta on the learning materials of Work Cycle of Four-Stroke Gasoline Engine and Work Cycle of Four-Stroke Diesel Engine. In Cycle I, the percentage of the students who fulfilled the minimum learning completeness was 54.55%, and it became 70.23% in Cycle II. 2) The application of the cooperative learning model of the STAD type could improve the learning creativity of the students in Grade in Grade X of Automotive Engineering Department B of State Vocational High School 5 of Surakarta on the learning materials of Work Cycle of Four-Stroke Gasoline Engine and Work Cycle of Four-Stroke Diesel Engine. In addition, the percentage of the students who completed the criterion was 57.11% in Cycle I and became 71.52% in Cycle II. Thus, the application of the cooperative learning model of the STAD type could improve the verbal communication and learning achievement in the education and training of Basic Automotive Technology in Academic Year 2014/2015 of the students in Grade in Grade X of Automotive Engineering Department of State Vocational High School 5 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2014/2015

    The aim of this research is improving learning motivation and the result in practice learning at machining practice lesson of students at class XI M2 Vocational High School PGRI 1 Surakarta in academic year 2014/2015. The effort is applied design of work preparation by the students. This research is classroom action research. This research conducted on two cycles with four phases, includes: planning; doing; assessment; and reflection. The subject of this research is all of student class XI M2 Vocational High School PGRI 1 Surakarta in academic year 2014/2015 as many as 24 students. This research did by collaboration between researcher, teacher and students. The data of research were collected through observation, documentation, interview and test. The instrument validated with content, questionnaire and test validity, using expert judgment technique. Data analyzed by comparative descriptive analysis and critical analysis. The result show that the design of work preparation could improve the learning motivation and the result of lathe machine practice. In cycle I, the percentage attainment of student learning motivation is 71,8% and the average of the student practice record is 74,79 with the percentage of students to get score upper of minimum learning completeness criterion is 70,83%. In cycle II, the percentange attainment of student learning motivation is 85,14% with the average is 84,07 with the percentage of students to get score upper of minimum learning completeness criterion is 100%

    PENINGKATAN KEAKTIFAN DAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA DENGAN PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE JIGSAW PADA MATA PELAJARAN LAS DASAR KELAS X M2 SMK PGRI 1 SURAKARTA TAHUN PELAJARAN 2014/2015

    The objectives of this research are to get the successfulness: (1) in the improvement of the learning activeness in the Basic Welding subject matter of the students in Grade X M2 of PGRI Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta through the application of the cooperative learning model of the Jigsaw type; and (2) in the improvement of the learning achievement in the Basic Welding subject matter of the students in Grade X M2 of PGRI Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta through the application of the cooperative learning model of the Jigsaw type. This research used the classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four phases, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of research were the students in Grade X Machinery 2 of the aforementioned school. The sources of research data were observation sheet on the learning activeness and the test of achievement. The data of research were collected through test i.e. written test items non-test i.e. students’ learning activeness observation sheet during the implementation. They were validated through content validity for the data obtained through test and construct validity for the data obtained through non-test. The result of research shows that the application of the cooperative learning model of the Jigsaw type can improve the students’ learning activeness as indicated by the result of observation. Prior to the treatment, only one indicator of learning activeness fulfills the target. Following the treatment with the cooperative learning model of the Jigsaw type, 3 indicators fulfill the target in Cycle I, and all of the indicators fulfill the target in Cycle 2. Furthermore, the students’ average score of learning achievement also improves. In the pre-cycle which uses the lecturing method, the completeness of the learning achievement is 41%. Following the treatment with the cooperative learning model of the Jigsaw type, it becomes 68% in Cycle I and 82% in Cycle II respectively. Thus the application of the cooperative learning model of the Jigsaw typecan improve the learning activeness and achievement in the Basic Welding subject matter of the students in Grade X Machinery 2 of PGRI Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta.

    The purpose of this research is to improve the student’s learning motivation and learning achievement through the implementation of assignment strategy on lathe machining practices subject student of SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta.  This research is a classroom action research. It was performed by two cycles in which each cycle consisted of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The subjects of this research are 31 students of TPM C second grade of SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta. The data source was taken from teacher and students. The techniques of collecting data are observation, test, documentation, and questionnaire. The data validity uses content and construct validity. The techniques of data analysis use comparative analysis and descriptive statistic. The result shows that: (1) the implementation of assignment strategy could improve the learning motivation. It is shown by the percentage of students motivation before the implementation which is 31,85%. After the first cycle is done, the percentage increases in the number of 51,18%, and 78,1% increases in the second cycle, (2) the implementation of assignment strategy could improve the learning achievement. It is shown from the precentage of students having test score more than 75. Before application of assignment strategy there are 45,16%, after the implementation were done, the precentage of the students achievement is 54,84% in the first cycle, and 87,1% and increases in the second cycle. The conclusion of this research is the implementation of assignment strategy could improve the students learning motivation and achievement the subject of lathe machining practices subject student SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta
