    Get PDF
Yogyakarta has increasing trends in the number of vehicles and consequently intensifying the traffic volume and will effect to higher emission and air pollution. Traffic lights duration plays a vital role in congestion mitigation in the critical intersections of urban areas. This study has objective to minimize the number of vehicles waiting in line by developing the hybrid simulation method. First of all, the MKJI and Webster method were calculated to determine the green traffic light. Then, the simulation model was developed to evaluate the number of vehicles waiting in line according to different duration of green traffic lights from MKJI and Webster method. A case study will then be provided in Pelemgurih intersection located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia for demonstrating the applicability of the developed method. The result shows that the duration of green traffic lights calculated by Webster method provides lower number of vehicles waiting in line. It is due to the short duration of green traffic light resulted by Webster method so that the traffic light cycle becomes shorter and it effects the number of vehicles waiting in line which is lower than MKJI method. The results obtained can help the generating desired decision alternatives that will important for Department of Transportation, Indonesia to enhance the road traffic management with low number of vehicles waiting in line

    Get PDF
Village-Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa) Pakis Sabilulungan is a business entity that houses small, micro and medium-sized businesses located in Mekarsari Village, Pasirjambu, Bandung, Indonesia. At present, BUM Desa Pakis has begun to pioneer several businesses including the production of snacks, coffee, crafts, and clothing. But there are obstacles where marketing is still limited to one sub-district and income tends to stagnate. Therefore, we need an internet-based technology that is able to help marketing more broadly and more easily than the current situation. The proposed technology in BUM Desa Pakis is a web-based e-marketplace, where all business owners can sell goods on the same platform. In its development, the prototyping method was used. This is because BUM Desa needs a description of the application that will be used before further development. The results of the e-Marketplace development on BUM Desa show that the marketing process can be carried out faster, payments can be made through bank transfers and delivery can be done through expeditions. This is significantly able to expand product marketing from Mekarsari Villag

Clothing, food, and shelter are three basic types of needs in our lives. If one of the basic needs is not met then there can be an imbalance in our lives. One of the basic needs is to build a house. House needs a tile or roof to cover of a building that can protect all weather influences. One company in Majalengka only uses fleeting vision in inspection process. This can result in a decrease in work productivity. This paper proposed an approach machine learning model for classification of defects was carried out in the inspection process. Feature extraction was performed using the Local Binary Pattern (LBP) method to obtain training features. The next stage is training (training) to the characteristics of training that has been obtained. Furthermore, the database obtained from the training results will be used to classify tile image test data using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method. From the test results, the system is made capable of classifying defects of a maximum accuracy value of 63.21%. The results obtained are the best accuracy value generated is 76.67% with LBP parameters used are 256 × 256 cell size and radius 2. While for SVM parameters use Polynomial kernel type or RBF with OAA multiclas

Inventory Planning with Method Q and Method P for Probabilistic Demand on Chrysanthemum Seeds at PT Transplants Indonesia

    Get PDF
Fluctuating and uncertain demand is a problem faced by manufacturing firms. The problem can be mitigated by the availability of inventory systems. This inventory serves to ensure the availability of appropriate resources in the right quantity and at the right time, so as to minimize the costs incurred. PT. Transplants Indonesia is a company engaged in the business of chrysanthemum flower in Indonesia. PT. Transplants Indonesia is a subsidiary of Okinawa Flower Agricultural Cooperative Association (OKF) in Okinawa, Japan. The purpose of this company establishment is to meet the demand of farmers who are members of the OKF.  In the case of backorder, on Q method with probabilistic request the size of the lottery (Q) is always fixed for every time the order is made and the order is made if the amount of inventory system has reached a certain level (r) called the reorder point. In method P with probabilistic order requests made according to a fixed interval of time (T) and the ordering does not exceed the maximum inventory limit (R). Total Inventory cost incurred by the company using the method used by the company amounted to Rp.74.995.360,84. The inventory model using the Q method generates a total inventory cost of Rp.70.253.291,46. Meanwhile, inventory model using P method resulted in total inventory cost of Rp.71.529.327,17. So economically, the selected inventory model is the inventory model with the Q method which has a lower total inventory cost value than using the P method.   Keywords— Inventory system, Probabilistic, Backorder, Method Q, Method P, Reorder point

    Get PDF
Currently, the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) is one method that can be applied and used to produce seeds of local rice species in highland areas. However, it can currently be seen that the traditional methods to transfer knowledge about SRI from the experts still have limitations in many aspects due to the number of farmers that have experienced success still being low. Some farmers do not have their own fields and it takes a period for farmers to test the rice growing. Currently, mobile devices are widely used in peoples’ lives. Many scholars focus on the application of mobile devices and the augmented reality (AR) technology for the simulation games in many issues while the use of AR-based mobile applications as the learning tools is not widespread. There-fore, in this study, we propose the development of an application on mobile devices with augmented reality technology in order to use it as media in sharing knowledge related to the methods of the System of Rice Intensification by virtual farms simulation. To examine the efficiency of this developed application. A total amount of participants were 512 farmers from 5 regions of Thailand. The experimental results demonstrated that the newly developed AR-based mobile application is effective for improved knowledge on the participants who used the developed application and it can help them to practice their SRI farming skill in the virtual farm simulation. This indicates that the developed AR-based mobile application is the benefits tool for the new knowledge transferring meth-od in the system of rice intensification. For future work, it is necessary to evaluate the farmer success after learning from this AR-based mobile application in order to study the impact of the new method of SRI knowledge transferring. An Architecture of Decision Support System for Visual-Auditory-Kinesthetic (VAK) Learning Styles Detection Through Behavioral Modelling

    Get PDF
Learning style (LS) is a description of the attitudes and behaviors which determine an individual’s preferred way of learning. Since each student has different LS, it is important for the teacher to recognize the differences in LS. Thus, an appropriate technique to detect students' LS, improve the motivation and academic achievement are required. The common approach using questionnaires to identify LS is less accurate due to complete the questionnaire is a tedious task for students and tend to choose answers randomly without understanding the questions. Emotions such as anger, sadness, and happiness resulting the different questionnaire answers. Due to the approach constrains, this study has focused on automated approaches that identify student LS from student behavior in the learning process. Implementation of decision support system (DSS) as automated application systems is needed to help teachers make decisions in determining students' LS. Thus, the objective of this study is to propose the architecture of LS detection automatically using decision support system. The development of the architecture is applying the behavioral modelling, that are contained student’s behavior parameters for visual-auditory-kinesthetic (VAK) model. Evaluation of the architecture is tested with the precision DSS engine. The accuracy of the rule technique achieves significant 80% accuracy. This study aims to help teachers to identify the ability of the student through the learning style (LS) in order to create effectiveness of learning and improving student’s achievement indirectly. Towards Modelling Trust in Voice at Zero Acquaintance

    Get PDF
Trust is essential in many human relationships, especially where there is an element of inter-dependency. However, humans tend to make quick judgements about trusting other individuals, even those met at zero acquaintance. Past studies have shown the significance of voice in perceived trustworthiness, but research associating trustworthiness and different vocal features such as speech rate and fundamental frequency (f0) has yet to yield consistent results. Therefore, this paper proposes a method to investigate 1) the association between trustworthiness and different vocal features, 2) the vocal characteristics that Malaysian ethnic groups base their judgement of trustworthiness on and 3) building a neural network model that predicts the degree of trustworthiness in a human voice. In the method proposed, a reliable set of audio clips will be obtained and analyzed with SoundGen to determine the acoustical characteristics. Then the audio clips will be distributed to a large group of untrained respondents to rate their degree of trust in the speakers of each audio clip. The participants will be able to choose from 30 sets of audio clips which will consist of 6 audio clips each. The acoustic characteristics will be analyzed and com-pared with the ratings to determine if there are any correlations between the acoustic characteristic and the trustworthiness ratings. After that, a neural network model will be built based on the collected data. The neural network model will be able to predict the trustworthiness of a person’s voice. Keywords—prosody, trust, voice, vocal cues, zero acquaintance
