Coffee, Community, and Capitalism: Analyzing Worker Economic Strategies at Blawan Plantation in East Java (2016-2022)

This article is written to discuss and describe the influence of the Blawan coffee plantation on the economic resilience of the workers' families in Kalianyar Village, Ijen Subdistrict, Bondowoso Regency (2016-2022) with an economic sociology approach. The theoretical framework used in this article is the theory of social change. Methodologically, the article uses the historical method, which includes heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. From the results of the research, it is known that the Blawan coffee plantation became the foundation of hope for workers in Kalianyar village to meet the economic needs of the family and the workers can be involved in activities in the plantation starting from the production process, plant maintenance, coffee harvesting process, and post-harvest coffee handling. From these major activities, the laborers get income to help the family economy. The conclusion is that the Blawan coffee plantation is the foundation of the laborers' hopes to improve the family economy

Digital Disruption in Transportation: Gojek's Entry and Growth in Makassar (2015-2020)

PT. Gojek Indonesia, a technology company founded in 2011 by Nadiem Makarim and Kevin Aluwi, introduced online transportation services to Indonesia, starting with GoRide, a modern motorcycle taxi service. This research employs a historical method with four steps: Heuristics, Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography. Gojek officially began operations on August 8, 2015, receiving an enthusiastic response from the public. Its presence improved urban mobility, offering easy access and affordable rates, supported by professional and friendly drivers. Unlike traditional motorcycle taxis, Gojek provides both passenger and goods transportation services, as well as shopping and food delivery options. The Gojek application offers various services, including GoRide, GoSend, GoFood, GoCar, GoMart, and GoBox.. Gojek's entry into Makassar aimed to alleviate traffic congestion and improve mobility in the city. The company obtained necessary permits and coordinated with relevant stakeholders before launching its services. Gojek's presence has significantly impacted the transportation landscape in Makassar, providing a convenient, affordable, and reliable alternative to traditional transportation modes while also contributing to job creation and economic growth

Independent Curriculum Assessment and Evaluation in History Learning in Public High Schools throughout Barito Kuala Regency

This research uses a qualitative approach. Data collection and data sources were determined by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out through data collection, reduction, presentation and conclusion. Then, to obtain the validity of the data in this research, the researcher used triangulation techniques. The research results show that the State High School in Barito Kuala has implemented an independent curriculum. Learning and assessment have been carried out in an integrated manner. In history learning, teachers use assessments to measure the achievement of learning objectives. Three types of assessments are used: diagnostic, formative, and summative. The assessment results are used as a basis for assessing students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, as well as reflective material for teachers to use in determining subsequent learning strategies

Innovative Learning Design Assisted by Comic Media in Social Studies

Learning innovation in social studies learning is important, especially for designing learning. This study aims to examine the effectiveness and relevance of comic media as a tool for developing social studies learning. This study uses a literature study method by analyzing various indexed and accredited journals that highlight the use of comics in social studies learning. The results indicate that comics in addition increase students' interest in learning but also help in understanding complex concepts through visualization. Comic media, when combined with innovative learning strategies, can have a positive impact on student learning outcomes in social studies learning

Cooperative Learning Strategies for Engaging History Education: Exploring GI and TGT Models

History learning is considered boring learning for students, this learning is considered less useful because it is identical to memorization, therefore educators must have expertise in mastering learning methods and models so that learning in the classroom becomes not boring. This writing aims to see the relevance of the Group Investigation (GI) and Team Game Tournament (TGT) learning models. The method used in this article is descriptive qualitative. Qualitative descriptive research method is one type of analysis that explains a phenomenon or data obtained. The phenomenon or data is obtained from books, journals, and articles with collection techniques namely editing, organizing, and finding. The results of the analysis conducted by the author regarding the definition of GI and TGT, then the relevance of GI and TGT in learning history. The conclusion of this writing is that by using interesting and interactive learning models such as GI and TGT, history learning which is considered boring will become interesting learning for students

Socio-Economic Life of Steenkolen Maatschappij Parapattan Workers at Silo Port (1912-1957)

This research aims to explain how the socio-economic life of Steenkolen Maatschappij Parapattan workers at Silo Port from 1912 to 1957. The type of research used is historical research which includes Heuristics, Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography. The focus of the research discusses the general description of Steenkolen Maatschappij Parapattan, the labor employment system, the condition of job availability, and labor conflicts. The results show that initially, the laborers who worked at Steenkolen Maatschappij Parapattan were local laborers from the Berau region, but in 1919 many laborers were brought in from outside the region, especially from Java to fill the shortage of human resources. In addition, Steenkolen Maatschappij Parapattan was not only engaged in mining but also plantations and timber extraction. Steenkolen Maatschappij Parapattan also built infrastructure to support the company's activities. In 1926, there was a labor conflict that occurred due to exploitation and the presence of mass organizations in the Berau region. The employment opportunities available in the Berau region from 1912 to 1957 were dominated by mining. However, there were also jobs in plantations, timber extraction, education, and sea transportation. The rapid development of the Berau region created many jobs

History learning is conducted with the aim of building and nurturing historical awareness of the importance of past events. Historical awareness holds a crucial position in the existence of a nation. History provides ample opportunities for students to actively analyze various discoveries. Observations conducted by researchers regarding the Indonesian history subject at SMAN 16 Batam revealed several facts: 1) textbooks, when viewed in terms of their physical appearance, generally appear dull, and 2) the topic of B.J. Habibie's contribution to the construction of Barelang Bridge in Batam has not been used in schools. This research aims to produce infographic teaching materials on B.J. Utilization of Local History Studies of The Soeracarta Heritage Society Forum as Enrichment in Learning History at Regina Pacis Senior High School in Surakarta

This research was conducted to find out the utilization of local history study of Soeracarta Heritage Society forum in enriching the insight of SMA Regina Pacis Surakarta students. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The data collection techniques applied were interviews and direct observation. Data analysis in this study used interactive model analysis. The results showed that: 1) the identification of local history studies in the history learning process at SMA Regina Pacis Surakarta is still not optimal due to the lack of breadth of insight. 2) the utilization of local history studies of Soeracarta Heritage Society forum is very effective in enriching the insight of SMA Regina Pacis Surakarta students

This study aims to determine the background of the establishment of the Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Educational Institution and the education system at the Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Educational Institution.  The type of research used in this study is library research. The point is to answer the problem formulation, the author collects data from books, journals, scientific papers, and so on. The study also used an induction and deduction approach where the collected data was drawn to generalizations to conclusions.  The results of this research are the background for the establishment of the Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Educational Institute. The organization was founded in 1914 by Sheikh Ahmad Surkati Al-Anshori, a great cleric from Mecca who came from Sudan. Al-Irshad Al-Islamiyyah focuses on education, teaching, social, and da'wah at the national level. Al-Irshad Al-Islamiyyah is committed to purifying the teachings of Islam, expanding science, and developing a civilized and Islamic moral society. Al-Irshad Al-Islamiyyah aims to purify tawhid, worship and amaliyah Islam. Engaged in education and da'wah. To realize this goal, AI Irsyad has established hundreds of formal schools and non-formal educational institutions throughout Indonesia. The development of the times and technology has a great influence on the implementation of educational practices. This also has an impact on the world of education, one of the things that can be done to take advantage of these technological developments is to develop learning strategies. The problem of learning history which is often considered boring and memorized learning can be overcome through various things. One of the offers of innovation in learning history is to develop learning strategies by integrating technology in it and training students' ability to analyze and think critically to create meaningful experiences for students through independent knowledge building so that learning history does not only have the impression of being rote learning. The purpose of this research is to develop a new concept of history learning strategy as an alternative to critical-analytical learning. The method used in this research is the research and development method or R&D, design instruction. Based on this research and development, it produces a geap learning history learning strategy (giving, exploration, analyze, and project) that can be implemented during history learning activities
