    Bibliometric Analysis of the Development Map and Research Trends in Qur’anic Studies and Tafseer: A Scopus Database Exploration (1974-2023)

    The research employs a bibliometric approach using R and Rstudio tools, VosViewer, and Microsoft Excel to evaluate the growth of Qur'anic Studies and Tafsir research papers. The sample of reference articles, totaling 1,476 articles, is sourced from the Scopus database using Boolean operators. Further research is still within the scope of Qur'anic Studies through Tafsir Science. The research conducted a data search on 23 November 2023 using Scopus as a guide, using the title and abstract of the article to search for keywords related to Qur'anic Studies and Tafsir.The search results reveal 904 publications published between 1974 and 2023, involving 1807 authors, 372 single authors, and 8.739% international co-authors. These publications have been cited 35,873 times and have an average citation per publication of 4,061. The number of publications integrating Qur'anic Science and Tafsir has fluctuated over the past 12 years, increasing from 2017-2023. The number of publications has increased from 49 in 2017 to 59 in 2018, 69 in 2019, 85 in 2020, 100 in 2021, 110 in 2022, and 120 in 2023.     Penafsiran Wahbah al-Zuhaili terhadap Isu LGBT dalam Al-Qur’an: Perspektif dan Respon Masyarakat Patani, Thailand

    This research aims to find out Wahbah Al-Zuhaili's interpretation of LGBT verses and find out how the Patani community in Thailand responds to LGBT. This research is included in qualitative research with a library search and field study approach. This research method includes qualitative analysis of the writings of Wahbah Al-Zuhaili, a famous scholar, to understand his perspective on LGBT in the Islamic context. In addition, this research also involves collecting empirical data through interviews, observations, and documentary studies to understand how the Patani community responds to LGBT issues. The results of the analysis show that Wahbah Al-Zuhaili's interpretation of LGBT verses in the Qur'an emphasizes the importance of context, ethics and social norms. Wahbah Al-Zuhaili also said that LGBT behavior is truly stupid, has a bad impact on oneself and others and is strictly prohibited by religion. As for the response of the Patani community regarding LGBT. The response of the Patani community regarding whether LGBT perpetrators should be shunned or not, 18% said they should not be shunned, while 7.2% said they were doubtful and 74.8% said they should be shunned

    Prohibisi Homoseksual dalam Al-Qur’an: Studi Analisis Tafsir Maqāṣidī

    Homosexuality is one type of human sexual orientation that the mufasirs have prohibited such behavior as has been done by the people of Prophet Luth. The view of the mufasirs in the prohibition leads that homosexual behavior violates the nature of human creation which lives in pairs between men and women. So in this study using the theory of maqāṣidī interpretation approach, researchers will prove that the relationship between men and women is a more maqāṣidī-ah and healthy relationship, besides that this research will also reveal the purpose and wisdom of the prohibition of homosexual behavior. So the results of this study can be concluded that the wisdom of the prohibition of homosexuality contains several maqāṣid, namely hifẓ al-nasl (continuing generations), hifẓ al-dīn (continuing and fighting for the teachings of Islam), hifẓ al'aql (avoiding excessive attitudes) and hifẓ al-nafs (avoiding disease). Homosexual behavior will not provide benefits for life but rather provide harm.

    Madura adalah satu dari jajaran kepualauan tropis yang beriklim panas dan bertanah tandus. Faktor inilah yang membuat karakter orang Madura keras dan temprament. Namun demikian, Madura yang sebagian besar penduduknya memeluk agama Islam, pasti ada akulturasi nila-nilai keislaman yang turut mewarnai situasi sosial dan budaya masyarakat Madura. Melalui penelitian lapangan dan pustaka, dengan pendekatan diskriptif analisis dan metode living quran pada masyarakat Daleman kecamatan Galis, kabupaten Bangkalan yang berfokus pada tradisi bhen ghiben sebagai objek formalnya. Penulis menemukan, bahwa tradisi bhen ghiben dalam budaya bey ghebey di acara pernikahan di Daleman, Galis kab Bangkalan, dianggap sebagai hutang yang dibebankan kepada tuan rumah oleh tamu undangan dan hutang piutang tersebut dicatat oleh pihak ketiga untuk meminimalisir kesalah-pahaman antara pemilik hutang dan yang mempunyai piutang. Sistem pencatatan hutang piutang merupakan implementasi dari ajaran al-Quran, tepatnya dalam surat al-Baqarah ayat 238. Oleh karena implementasi nilai al-Quran tersebut berakulturasi membentuk sebuah budaya yang telah mengakar di desa Daleman,  maka wujud pencatatan hutang piutang dalam tradisi bhen ghiben dapat dikategorikan sebagai quranisasi sebuah kehidupan yang telah membudaya sebagai hasil respon dari sisi eksegis.masyarakat Daleman terhadap al-Quran

    Seeing Islam as a Social Fact: Hermeneutic Approach to the Quran in Abu Zayd's Thought

    This study aims to discuss Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd's thoughts on the Quran as scripture. Using the type of literature study research, this article explains Abu Zayd's thoughts as contained in several of his writings. This study's findings state that Abu Zayd's argument that the Quran as a cultural product and cultural producer (muntaj tsaqafi and muntij tsaqafi) departs from Abu Zayd's approach, which sees Islam as a social fact. There is a big difference between Islam, studied as a social fact, and Islam, seen as a religious doctrine. Islam as a social fact demands objective and positive scientific work. Abu Zayd took a new approach to the Quran by shifting the direction of study from a vertical dimension to a horizontal dimension. The horizontal dimension referred to by Abu Zayd is the canonization in which the teachings of the Quran were spread gradually by the Prophet Muhammad. This article also concludes that Abu Zayd sees it as a text for studying the Quran. It is at this point that Abu Zayd uses a hermeneutic approach. It is at these two points that Abu Zayd said that his study of the Quran is based on the human aspect. What Abu Zayd means by studying the Qur'an, which departs from the human aspect with a horizontal dimension is also what is meant by Islam as a social fact in this article. In the order of writing, the article sequentially discusses the following points. The first part of this article reviews a brief biography of Abu Zayd, along with the social and political conditions that influenced his thinking. The second part explains the Quran as a text. And in the last section describes the Quran as a product as well as a cultural produce

    Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hermeneutika Edip Yuksel dengan mengkaji konsep jizyah, konsep ummi bagi Nabi Muhammad saw, dan konsep naskh. Sumber primer pada penelitian ini adalah buku karya Yuksel yang berjudul Quran: A Reformist Translation. Sumber tersebut dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif-analitis dan pendekatan teori dekonstruksi Derrida. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa hermeneutika Edip Yuksel tidak mengadopsi secara penuh teori dekonstruksi Derrida. Karena dalam beberapa kasus Yuksel menentukan makna sebuah kata dalam al-Qur’an secara final. Meskipun dalam beberapa hal penulis memandang Yuksel sebagai mufassi>r progresif. Penulis juga menyimpulkan bahwa Yuksel telah mengesampingkan aspek sejarah yang berakibat pada bentuk simplifikasi teks. Metode penafsiran Yuksel mengacu pada logika al-Qur’an yang hampir tidak didialogkan dengan kondisi sosial-historis pada masa lampau, sehingga tafsir Yuksel ini belum dapat menggambarkan makna al-Qur’an secara lebih komprehensif.Kata Kunci: Hermeneutika, Edip Yuksel, Dekonstruksi, Derrida

    The Depiction of Al-Bukhārī’s travels in classical Islamic literature

    Travel (riḥla) after the death of the Prophet Muḥammad, and the geographically disparate locations of his companions made travelling for the acquisition of knowledge, and for the attainment of reliable ḥadīṯh an absolute necessity and it was regarded as a key component in the acquisition of this sacred knowledge. The present paper thus, investigates al-Bukhārī as a major figure in ḥadīṯh compilation. Furthermore, it discusses more specifically how he is perceived and exemplified in biographical literature (ṭabaqāt/tarājim). It subsequently, analyses the historical references (kutub al-tārīkh), in search of any possible subsidiary details.  Finally, by providing a chronological listing of these sources and looking at the included and excluded details, also the possible and acceptable explanations of any incongruities befallen, the present paper will determine whether the information provided is consistent or if it is the subject of embellishment.Keywords: Riḥla, ḥadīṯh, al-Jāmi‘ al-Ṣaḥīḥ, ṭabaqāt, tarāji

    Premarital intercourse is not only an issue in society but also a serious discussion in religion. The outcome is the birth of a child whose lineage becomes a questionable. This article aims to answer this issue from the perspective of Islamic law with the Fiqh al-Hadis approach. The research employs a library research method with an approach of Fiqh al-Hadis to analyze narrations and significancy of the hadith by collecting all the related history, examining the validity and quality of the hadith and explaining how mazhab scholars argue about the meaning and purpose of discussed hadith text. Eventually, it is found that among mazhab scholars, there are agreements and differences in understanding the text and substantive of the ‘lil firasy’ hadith. From the various results of reasoning, mazhab scholars can provide clear stipulations in determining lineage status and can also be a way out for the community in this case

    This article seeks to reveal the interpretation of piety from the Islamic philanthropic tradition (zakat, infaq, and alms) which has experienced both narrowing and development at the same time. In the realm of agency (perpetrators), muzakki are considered pious and generous people. Whereas zakat, essentially removes other people's property contained in our property. While in the social domain, there is a development of meaning if zakat is seen from a functional point of view. From a simple idea of giving transformed into a social movement for humanity. Through a semiological approach, it can reveal not only the linguistic meaning (denotational meaning) of the verses of the Qur'an related to Islamic philanthropy, but also continue to explore deeper such as symbolic meanings. The depth and specificity of the messages contained in the verses of the Qur'an are explored by continuing the process of subjective interpretation through the disclosure of further message connotations. This connotative meaning then becomes the basis for the formation of myths (philosophical meanings). This study finds the interpretation that piety according to Muhammadiyah is practicing al-Ma'un theology. A Muslim has not perfected his Islam if he has not practiced the essence of the values of Qs. Al-Ma'un. As for NU, it implies that piety has a practice based on the understanding of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah. Although different in the basis of belief, both have similarities in philanthropic activities; strengthening of religious trends and religious symbols among urban communities and the middle class. In addition, between the two there is a tendency to collaborate rather than contest. Both of them confirmed as the guardian of wasatiyah Islam (guardian of wasatiyah Islam) in Indonesia.

    The Development of Muslim Personality in the Light of the Surah al-Kahf

    The muslim personality is characterized by awareness, thought, and a clear vision of the reality of the world, and this personality embodies positive constructive elements to be recruited to face all kinds of contemporary challenges, seeing the world in the light of Qur'anic guidance, steadfastness on divine principles and values, and contributing to changing society and rebuilding the earth, and this article deals with Aspects that contribute to making a global personality based on correct faith and broad-mindedness, including the doctrinal, scientific, practical and intellectual side through Surah al-Kahf. In order to achieve this, the inductive approach was used by following the sayings and ideas of scholars in ancient and modern interpretations. The analytical approach is also used in order to study, compare and classify sayings in order to devise the effective elements through which the Muslim personality based on firm foundations is built. The study concluded that the Muslim personality is based on true faith and charity in good deeds, which is the fruit of faith, and in it the goodness of the individual and society is, and the more the individual upholds his principles, values and faith, the more this contributes to the goodness of the whole society. And in Surah al-Kahf, there are stories that point to the practical methods that helped to create the Muslim personality of all the mentioned types. Just as faith is linked to knowledge, and knowledge is linked to strength and empowerment, so the sequence is clear in the stories mentioned in Surah al-Kahf, so the story of the Companions of the Cave is linked to faith, and that money helps with knowledge, and it is linked to the story of the Companions of the Two Gardens. And a flag that helps with strength and empowerment appears in the story of Moses and al-Khidr, and if the intentions are sincere, this is crowned, and this is evident in the story of Dhul-Qarnayn
