Teknik Fuzzy Delphi: reka bentuk inovasi imbuhan menurut konsensus pakar
Pengajaran abad ke-21 merupakan satu pendekatan yang sesuai seiring dengan era globalisasi dalam melahirkan generasi baharu yang berwibawa dan berketerampilan. Sehubungan itu, makalah ini membentangkan elemen Permainan Inovasi Imbuhan berdasarkan pembelajaran abad ke-21. Kajian ini juga bertujuan mendapatkan kesepakatan pakar dalam keperluan komponen utama, elemen dalam komponen utama dan turutan kedudukan (ranking) keutamaan komponen utama untuk setiap konstruk reka bentuk dan pembangunan Permainan Inovasi Imbuhan. Kajian ini merupakan kajian kuantitatif yang menggunakan teknik Fuzzy Delphi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data kajian ialah instrumen soal selidik yang terdiri daripada satu konstruk dan terbahagi kepada lima item. Seramai 18 orang pakar bahasa Melayu telah terlibat dalam pembentukan elemen reka bentuk Permainan Inovasi Imbuhan ini. Hasil daripada analisis melalui kaedah Fuzzy Delphi, tiada unsur dalam reka bentuk Permainan Inovasi Imbuhan digugurkan melalui konsensus pakar. Dalam pada itu, panel pakar telah bersetuju dengan item dan elemen yang ditetapkan dalam reka bentuk Permainan Inovasi Imbuhan, iaitu penanda sebagai wakil murid dalam Permainan Inovasi Imbuhan, kad info imbuhan sebagai nota tambahan dan murid dapat belajar sambil bermain, papan sebagai tapak Permainan Inovasi Imbuhan, dadu sesuai digunakan sebagai penentuan jumlah langkah Permainan Inovasi Imbuhan dan token sebagai pengumpulan markah murid dalam Permainan Inovasi Imbuhan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa semua item dan elemen bernilai threshold d kurang daripada 0.2, peratusan persetujuan pakar melebihi 75.0% manakala Defuzzication (alpha-cut) telah melebihi 0.5. Kesimpulannya, reka bentuk Permainan Inovasi Imbuhan telah diterima dan mempunyai konsensus pakar sepenuhnya. Melalui kajian ini, satu reka bentuk inovasi imbuhan yang berkualiti dapat didirikan untuk membantu murid yang mempunyai permasalahan dalam topik imbuhan bahasa Melayu
Analyzing enrolment patterns: modified stacked ensemble statistical learning based approach to educational decision-making
In the realm of global Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, the declining enrolment
in advanced mathematics courses poses a substantial challenge to the development of a robust STEM workforce and
its role in sustainable economic growth. The study’s primary objectives were to identify the determinants that impacted
urban upper-secondary students' enrolment in Additional Mathematics within the Kuantan District, Pahang, Malaysia,
and to develop a novel modified stacked ensemble statistical learning-based algorithm based on potential
determinants, following the Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) data science methodology.
To pursue these objectives, this study collected and analyzed 389 responses from the first-batch urban upper
secondary students in the Kuantan District who had enrolled in the newly revised Standard Based Curriculum for
Secondary Schools (KSSM’s) Additional Mathematics syllabus, utilizing a modified research questionnaire and a one
stage cluster sampling technique. The findings revealed that determinants such as education disciplines, ethnicity,
gender, mathematics self-efficacy, peer influence, and teacher influence had significantly impacted students' decisions
to enroll in Additional Mathematics. Moreover, the introduction of the novel modified stacked ensemble statistical
learning-based algorithm had improved predictive accuracy compared to traditional dichotomous logistic regression
algorithms on average, particularly at optimal training-to-test ratios of 70:30, 80:20, and 90:10. These insights were
valuable for shaping educational policy and practice, emphasizing the importance of promoting STEM education
initiatives and encouraging educators and counselors to empower students to pursue STEM careers while actively
promoting gender equality within STEM field
Expressive silence: managing message through sign language on Tiktok by deaf communicators
Social media has emerged as a powerful tool for fostering inclusivity, enabling people with disabilities to convey diverse messages to broad audiences. The TikTok account @jennifernatalie_ exemplifies this by delivering educational content on sign language. As a deaf Social Media Influencer (SMI), @jennifernatalie_ has successfully engaged her followers despite communication challenges. This research aims to analyze the communication strategies employed by @jennifernatalie_ in promoting sign language education on TikTok. Using a qualitative content analysis approach, the study examined 112 short videos from the Sign Language playlist on @jennifernatalie_’s TikTok, supplemented by relevant literature. The findings reveal that @jennifernatalie_ employs specific strategies to effectively deliver sign language education. These include using TikTok’s features, such as closed captions, to enhance accessibility and involving her child as a co-communicator, which adds relatability and diversity to the content. Her messaging targets both disabled and non-disabled audiences, extending her reach and impact. Additionally, she utilizes other platforms like Instagram and YouTube to support her educational efforts. The study highlights @jennifernatalie_’s ability to bridge communication gaps through social media, demonstrating how influencers can educate and raise awareness on important issues. This suggests a model for other educators and influencers to emulate in their efforts to promote inclusivity and accessibility
Kata adverba dalam karya Rehan Makhtar dengan menggunakan teori fungsional
Kata adverba dalam bahasa Melayu diberikan pelbagai definisi yang berbeza oleh tokoh-tokoh tempatan menyebabkan kekeliruan terhadap definisi dan fungsi kata adverba yang tepat dalam bahasa Melayu. Walaubagaimanapun, sarjana sebulat suara bersetuju bahawa adverba ialah perkataan yang menerangkan kata kerja. Kajian ini menganalisis bentuk kata adverba yang digunakan dalam novel popular serta menghuraikan fungsi dan kedudukan adverba berdasarkan teori fungsional ideasional. Kajian ini meneroka bentuk kata adverba berdasarkan definisi oleh Nik Safiah (2008). Bahan bacaan popular yang dipilih untuk melihat penggunaan kata adverba pada masa kini adalah novel Seseorang Untuk Aku yang dikarang oleh Rehan Makhtar, terbitan pada tahun 2015. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah analisis kandungan teks. Bagi menganalisis fungsi dan kedudukan kata adverba dalam ayat, teori nahu fungsional iaitu dengan menggunakan metafungsi ideasional yang telah diperkenalkan oleh Halliday (1994). Hasil kajian didapati bahawa kata adverba gandaan memiliki kekerapan yang paling tinggi berbanding kata adverba asalnya kata kerja yang mana kekerapannya yang paling rendah. Kata adverba gandaan berada pada kedudukan awal, pertengahan dan akhir ayat. Sementara, kata adverba asalnya kata kerja didapati berada pada kedudukan pertengahan dan belakang bagi kata kerja atau frasa kerja yang berperanan sebagai inti dalam ayat. Dengan menggunakan teori fungsional iaitu metafungsi ideasional didapati bahawa proses mental yang merupakan salah satu daripada transitiviti banyak didapati daripada hasil kajian dalam menganalisis kata adverba gandaan dan kata adverba yang menerangkan kata kerja
Life Post-SSEAYP: delving the concept of “SSEAYP Sick” among former participating youth from the ship for southeast Asian and Japanese youth program
The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) has been running for 46 years. The Cabinet Office of Japan organises it. This programme aims to foster friendship and mutual understanding between Japanese and Southeast Asian youths. After the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) programme ends, all the former Participating Youths (PYs) will experience a new life adjustment, which is famously known as "SSEAYP Sick". Therefore, this study explores the implications of "SSEAYP Sick" among Former Participating Youths who participated in this program. Additionally, it is crucial to investigate how the SSEAYP programme has affected the PYs.The phenomenological approach is used in this qualitative research technique to comprehend how the PYs feel about a specific phenomenon. Twenty-two informants from ASEAN and Japan were interviewed in-depth to get the data. Thematic transcription was done after a descriptive analysis of the interview material. The study discovered that the PYs viewed this programme as a "bonus" regarding the SSEAYP Sick phenomena. This study's implications have identified three critical causes for the life post-SSEAYP among PYs: culture shock, homesickness, and the intricate process of returning adaptation. In addition, every person possesses unique experiences, thoughts, and viewpoints that have aided their development and moulded them into the people they are today
(Mis)representation of the LGBT community through nomination and categorisation: the case of Nur Sajat in The Star
The purpose of this study is to explore how the Malaysian newspaper The Star represents the LGBT community, specifically Nur Sajat, a local transgender woman, in their published news articles. This study employs van Leeuwen’s theory of representation of social actors to investigate how nomination and categorisation strategies are employed in portraying Nur Sajat. Previous studies related to the representation of the LGBT community have only focused on coverage and content released as opposed to looking at them as social actors per se. The study first gathered 29 news articles published by The Star from February 2021 to February 2022 as a corpus. Secondly, through Critical Discourse Analysis, the corpus then underwent nomination and categorisation analyses to identify how Nur Sajat is represented in terms of her unique and shared identities. The findings indicate that The Star misrepresents Nur Sajat through deadnaming and misgendering, which undermines her transgender identity. Despite portraying her as a successful businesswoman, negative depictions resembling criminal profiling are also highlighted. Media might better engage language associated with sensitivity and accuracy in line with legal and societal norms. Recognising diverse gender identities and sexual orientation converges ethical journalism; thus, media coverage might better comply with legal mandates and evolving societal attitudes. Finally, future research could expand on this study by comparing representation strategies of the LGBT community across various Malaysian media outlets
Pelaksanaan pembelajaran berasaskan projek mod teradun dalam kalangan guru rekaan dan jahitan pakaian, mata pelajaran vokasional di Malaysia
Perkembangan dan kepesatan teknologi semasa menuntut perubahan pendidikan dalam pelaksanaan strategi
pengajaran abad ke-21. Pembelajaran berasaskan projek mod teradun merupakan pendekatan berpusatkan murid
yang mengintegrasikan pembelajaran learn by doing dengan penggunaan teknologi digital. Namun, pendekatan ini
masih terhad dilaksanakan dalam kalangan guru sekolah menengah di Malaysia. Justeru, kajian ini adalah bertujuan
untuk mengenal pasti tahap pelaksanaan pembelajaran berasaskan projek mod teradun dalam kalangan guru Mata
Pelajaran Vokasional Rekaan dan Jahitan Pakaian di seluruh Malaysia. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif
melalui reka bentuk kajian tinjauan. Seramai 32 guru Mata Pelajaran Vokasional Rekaan dan Jahitan Pakaian
terlibat dalam kajian ini sebagai sampel kajian. Analisis deskriptif dijalankan menggunakan perisian SPSS Statistics
for Mac versi 28.0 bagi menganalisis skor nilai peratusan dan frekuensi. Manakala analisis ujian Kruskal Wallis
dijalankan bagi mengenal pasti pelaksanaan pembelajaran berasaskan projek mod teradun guru berdasarkan
pengalaman mengajar. Hasil daripada analisis mendapati tahap pelaksanaan pembelajaran berasaskan projek mod
teradun guru dari aspek kemahiran teknologi dan kemahiran pedagogi berada pada tahap sederhana tinggi,
manakala aspek efikasi kendiri guru berada pada tahap sederhana rendah. Analisis ujian Kruskal Wallis
menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan antara tahap pelaksanaan pembelajaran berasaskan projek
mod teradun guru berdasarkan pengalaman mengajar. Hal ini menunjukkan bahawa sokongan profesional
diperlukan agar pendekatan ini menjadi amalan seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi digital. Justeru, semua pihak
berkepentingan berperanan dalam memberi sokongan bagi memastikan pendekatan pembelajaran berpusatkan murid
ini menjadi amalan guru dengan pelaksanaan yang lebih berkesan
Peranan modal sosial dari sudut penglibatan komuniti ke arah pemeliharaan warisan di petempatan tradisional
Modal sosial merangkumi jaringan atau rangkaian, kepercayaan dan norma-norma yang wujud dalam perilaku yang dapat mendorong kemampuan dan kapabiliti untuk bekerjasama dikalangan komuniti. Teori atau konsep modal sosial bermula dengan andaian bahawa setiap individu dalam komuniti masyarakat mempunyai peranan untuk mengatasi segala masalah yang timbul dikalangan mereka. Kebersamaan dan kerjasama yang baik dari segenap anggota komuniti diperlukan bagi mencapai kelestarian sosial. Namun demikian, analisa kajian lepas terhadap aspek modal sosial di peringkat tempatan masih berpotensi untuk diteroka dengan lebih lanjut terutama dalam konteks pemeliharaan petempatan tradisional. Subjek ini dilihat penting memandangkan perubahan fizikal petempatan tradisional yang diakibatkan oleh tekanan pembangunan seringkali menyumbang kepada impak yang negatif terhadap budaya dan persekitaran komuniti. Justeru, kajian ini bermatlamat untuk menilai tahap kecenderungan penglibatan komuniti tempatan terhadap usaha pemeliharaan warisan sebagai salah satu cabang memperkasa modal sosial di petempatan tradisional. Melalui pendekatan kuantitatif yang melibatkan seramai 195 responden, kajian ini bertindak mengenal pasti peranan dan penglibatan komuniti terhadap usaha pemeliharaan di 2 buah petempatan tradisional yang diancam pembangunan di Kuala Terengganu. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa komuniti tempatan menyedari kepentingan pemeliharaan warisan disamping menyatakan hasrat untuk menyebarkan ilmu keunikan dan kepentingan warisan fizikal petempatan mereka secara lebih meluas. Namun kajian turut mendapati bahawa ketidak telusan maklumat awal mengenai pembangunan di kedua petempatan tradisional merupakan cabaran utama yang mereka hadapi dalam memelihara warisan setempat. Kajian ini turut dilihat berpotensi menjadi rujukan kepada pelbagai pihak yang berhasrat melaksanakan program pemeliharaan warisan melibatkan komuniti setempat di samping dapat meningkatkan tahap ketelusan penyebaran maklumat supaya gambaran sebenar mengenai sesuatu pembangunan di petempatan mereka dapat diketahui dan difahami dengan sepenuhnya
Factors influencing commitment: the bisexual husband's perspective in Malaysian marital relationships
Commitment is crucial in a marriage to ensure that the relationship can endure and thrive. This includes mixed
orientation marriages where one partner is a bisexual male, and the other is a heterosexual spouse. In a conservative
country like Malaysia, socio-cultural and religious influences undoubtedly exert significant pressure and affect the
ability and commitment of bisexual husbands to remain in their marriages, often necessitating the concealment of
their sexual identity from their partners. This study aims to identify the factors influencing the commitment levels of
bisexual husbands to their marital relationships. Using a qualitative research approach, in-depth interviews were
conducted with 15 bisexual husbands who are currently married. The findings revealed that love for their wives,
caring for their children, hope for change, internal religious motivation, upholding family honor, and avoiding social
stigma are key elements contributing to maintaining commitment in their marriages. The insights gained from this
study are expected to guide the development of interventions, support programs, and more effective counseling, as
well as the formulation of more inclusive and supportive policies for this group within the context of marriage.
Additionally, this study aims to raise societal awareness about the challenges faced by bisexual males in maintaining
their marriages, thereby helping to reduce stigma and discrimination
Motives of sharing fake news and effects on mental health of social media users: a meta-analysis
After the outbreak of COVID-19, the world faced various economic, health, and social challenges alongside terror from fake news and posts on social media. There has been a significant impact from the spread and sharing of fake news on the mental health of social media users. Henceforth, this study examined this issue within the context of uses and gratification theory. In doing so, the study performed a meta-analysis using cross-sectional studies regarding social media usage and the association between use and gratification among social media users. Fifteen articles from 2010 to 2020 were retrieved and finalised through strict selection criteria from Google Scholar, PubMed, and Web of Science. A random effect model was deployed to estimate the uses and gratification achieved from social media usage and the motivation behind sharing specific posts. The selected articles suggested a positive and significant role of the uses and gratification perspective in motivating users to select specific social media platforms to create and share posts. It was also identified that gratification can result from the performance of both positive and negative actions on social media by social media users. This study offers new insights into social media usage from the uses and gratification perspective during health crises, shedding light on its impact on fake news dissemination and suggesting practical algorithmic control measures
