Industrial wastewater treatment in Latin America and Europe: methods and applications. a systematic review of the literature

Esta investigación busca difundir los diferentes métodos de tratamiento de aguas residuales en distintas industrias de América Latina y Europa, así como los más utilizados. De acuerdo con la literatura revisada, un gran porcentaje de las aguas residuales industriales no son tratadas, especialmente en América Latina, causando un impacto negativo en el ecosistema. Existen diferentes métodos para el tratamiento de aguas residuales industriales; sin embargo, la mayoría de las investigaciones sobre tratamiento de aguas residuales industriales se centran en el estudio de un único método de tratamiento. La metodología utilizada fue la revisión sistemática de la literatura, se formaron 5 categorías y 10 subcategorías de estudio para analizar 30 artículos publicados entre 2015 y 2020. Como principal resultado, se obtuvo que las tecnologías verdes, como el método de humedales y el uso de microalgas, fueron las más estudiadas en los últimos cinco años. La principal limitación de este estudio fue la falta de información respecto a sectores industriales diferentes al textil y alimenticio, por lo que se sugiere realizar futuras investigaciones enfocadas en sectores aún no estudiados, como el automotriz, metalmecánico, agroindustrial, entre otros.This research seeks to disseminate the different methods for wastewater treatment in different industries in Latin America and Europe, as well as the most used ones. According to the literature reviewed, a large percentage of industrial wastewater is not treated, especially in Latin America, causing a negative impact on the ecosystem. There are different methods for the treatment of industrial wastewater; however, most of the research on industrial wastewater treatment focuses on the study of a single treatment method. The methodology used was the systematic literature review, 5 categories and 10 subcategories of study were formed to analyze 30 articles published between 2015 and 2020. As the main result, it was obtained that green technologies, such as the wetlands method and use of microalgae, were the most studied in the last five years. The main limitation of this study was the lack of information regarding industrial sectors other than textile and food, so it is suggested to do future research focusing on sectors not yet studied, such as automotive, metalworking, agro-industrial, among others

Uncertainty and Credit: The Chicken or the Egg Causality Dilemma

This paper seeks to explore whether bank credit (BC) contains useful information for mitigating economic policy uncertainty (EPU). The results of the bootstrap rolling-window test show that EPU is an effective channel for triggering BC. Additionally, it finds a feedback effect of BC on EPU, indicating that BC is a favorable tool for predicting EPU. Rising policy uncertainty leads banks to adopt aggressive or conservative credit strategies, which further increases policy adjustments. This circular relationship seems to be caught in a chicken or egg dilemma, demonstrating the importance of the government and the banking system in maintaining economic stability

Efecto de la terapia dialéctica conductual en los trastornos de conducta alimentaria

Los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria (TCA) en los últimos años han cobrado mayor relevancia dada su creciente reporte de casos y dificultad en la atención. La sintomatología de dichas patologías no logran ser abordadas de manera efectiva, por lo que existe una necesidad de buscar nuevas alternativas de tratamiento, siendo la terapia dialéctica conductual (TDC) una opción tentativa gracias a los resultados que trae consigo. Por ello, el objetivo de la presente revisión es determinar el efecto de la TDC en el tratamiento de los TCA, específicamente, de la anorexia nerviosa, bulimia nerviosa y trastorno por atracón. Se empleó las bases de datos: Web of Science, EBSCOhost, Scopus, a partir de los lineamientos PRISMA, obteniendo diez artículos científicos que cumplían con los criterios de elegibilidad. Se encontró la TDC y sus adaptaciones, tuvieron resultados significativos en la reducción de los síntomas relacionados a los TCA revisados y estos permanecieron en el tiempo incluso después del alta. Se concluye que la TDC es un tratamiento prometedor en el abordaje de la sintomatología de los TCA. No obstante, es relevante que se realicen más investigaciones en el contexto nacional para así generar resultados que permitan mejorar la intervención.In recent years, eating disorders (EDs) have gained greater significance due to their increasing incidence and difficulty in treatment. The symptomatology of these disorders often cannot be effectively addressed, leading to a need for new treatment alternatives. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has emerged as a promising option due to the results it brings. Therefore, the objective of this review is to determine the effect of DBT in the treatment of EDs, specifically anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. We searched the databases: Web of Science, EBSCOhost, Scopus, following PRISMA guidelines, resulting in the selection of ten scientific articles that met the eligibility criteria. It was found that DBT and its adaptations had significant results in reducing symptoms related to the reviewed EDs, and these improvements persisted over time even after discharge. It is concluded that DBT is a promising treatment in addressing the symptomatology of EDs. However, further research in the national context is relevant to generate results that improve intervention

Este estudio se propone analizar "El Impacto del Marketing Digital en la Intención de Compra de los Consumidores de Ropa Deportiva en Lima Metropolitana, 2023". En un entorno donde la presencia online es esencial, se examina minuciosamente cómo las estrategias digitales influyen en las decisiones de compra de los limeños, específicamente en el ámbito de la moda deportiva. La investigación se enfoca en evaluar tácticas específicas de marketing digital que puedan tener un impacto significativo en la intención de compra de productos deportivos. El propósito de este estudio es proporcionar a las empresas de ropa deportiva una comprensión más profunda de cómo las estrategias digitales afectan las actitudes y comportamientos de compra de los consumidores en Lima Metropolitana. Se busca identificar prácticas de marketing digital efectivas para fortalecer la conexión entre las marcas y los consumidores en este mercado competitivo. Además, se pretende analizar la presencia digital de las marcas de ropa deportiva en Lima Metropolitana y evaluar la percepción de los consumidores hacia las campañas de marketing digital. Al comprender mejor la relación entre las estrategias digitales y la intención de compra, se espera que los hallazgos proporcionen recomendaciones valiosas para mejorar las estrategias de marketing digital en el sector. Este trabajo contribuirá a la comprensión de cómo las estrategias de marketing digital influyen en la toma de decisiones de compra de los consumidores de ropa deportiva en Lima Metropolitana, ofreciendo información esencial para adaptarse a las cambiantes tendencias del mercado y satisfacer las necesidades de los consumidores en el entorno digital.The objective of this study is to analyze "The Impact of Digital Marketing on the Purchase Intent of Sportswear Consumers in Lima, 2023." In an environment where online presence is essential, it meticulously examines how digital strategies influence the purchasing decisions of the citizens of Lima, specifically in the ambit of sportswear. The research focuses on evaluating specific digital marketing tactics that may have a significant impact on the purchase intent of sports products. The purpose of this study is to provide sportswear companies with a deeper understanding of how digital strategies affect the attitudes and buying behaviors of consumers in Lima. The goal is to identify effective digital marketing practices to strengthen the connection between brands and consumers in this competitive market. Additionally, the research aims to analyze the digital presence of sportswear brands in Lima and the consumers perceptions of digital marketing campaigns. By better understanding the relationship between digital strategies and purchase intent, the findings are expected to provide valuable recommendations for enhancing digital marketing strategies in the industry. This investigation will contribute to understanding how digital marketing strategies influence the purchasing decisions of sportswear consumers in Lima, offering essential insights to adapt to changing market trends and meet consumer needs in the digital environment

Principal Components and Neural Networks Based Linear Regression to Determine Biomedical Equipment Maintenance Cost in the Peruvian Social Security Health System

In this study, multivariate linear regression models and principal component analysis, and artificial neural networks (ANN) were designed to predict the monthly cost of biomedical equipment maintenance services in the Peruvian Social Health Insurance (EsSalud). The data employed in the development of these models were obtained from maintenance contracts and their execution, from 2019 to present. The results demonstrate that the multivariable linear regression model acquires adequate metrics; still, such a model has four correlated variables. Hence, the use of the principal component regression model enhanced the outcomes by using two components, thus acquiring greater interpretability. Finally, the ANN model obtained the best performance predictor

Enhancing it project success through entrepreneurial leadership: the mediating roles of team reflexivity, team innovation culture, and team entrepreneurial passion

Drawing on the Resource Based View and Social Learning Theory, this study aims to explore the influence of Entrepreneurial Leadership (EL) on Project Success (PS) via the mediating pathways of Team Reflexivity (TR), Team Innovation Culture (TIC), and Team Entrepreneurial Passion (TEP). Data were gathered from 422 senior-level employees in IT firms. The analysis employed SMART-PLS 4 structural equation modeling to assess the proposed relationships. The findings underscore the significant impact of EL on PS. EL was observed to exert a noteworthy influence on TR, TIC, and TEP. Moreover, the proposed mediators, TR and TIC, exhibited substantial effects on PS, while TEP demonstrated a partially significant impact.
