ABSTRACT   Quranic studies in formal educational contexts are not limited to the mastery of recitation skills alone, but also emphasise students’ understanding, internalisation, and self-reflection on the messages of the Quran. However, the implementation of Quranic learning among non-Islamic studies students often faces challenges due to the diversity of academic backgrounds and prior learning experiences. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the 4T approach, namely Tilawah, Translation, Tafsir, and Tadabbur, implemented through a Quranic verse analysis task in enhancing students’ understanding of Quranic verses, internalisation of meaning, self-reflection, value development, as well as their perceptions of the approach as a pedagogical framework. The study employed a quantitative survey design involving 230 foundation-level non-Islamic studies students enrolled in elective courses (CTU) at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale and analysed descriptively. The findings indicate that the 4T approach has a positive effect on all measured constructs, with all constructs recording high mean scores (M > 3.67). The average mean scores for each construct were 4.71 for Quranic verse understanding, 4.71 for verse internalisation or tadabbur, 4.71 for self-reflection and values development, and 4.55 for the effectiveness of the 4T approach as a pedagogical framework. In addition, the majority of students perceived the 4T approach as systematic, meaningful, and suitable for implementation in Quranic teaching and learning within CTU courses. This study proposes the 4T approach as an effective and inclusive Quranic pedagogical practice in the context of higher education.Indexed publicatio

    No full text
IndexedExpanding electromagnetic contamination has fortified the improvement of electromagnetic wave absorbers (EMWA). Most research studies have been carried out to synthesis most efficient EMWA by using various filler materials. This research highlight on the mixture of three different materials to be used as filler and incorporated into epoxy resin as polymer matrix. The thickness of as-synthesized MWCNT catalyzed by mill scale mixed with zeolite and Nickel Zinc Ferrite loaded into epoxy resin was fixed at 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm. The materials properties and characterization were analysed by using Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) and Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) at different GHz frequency range. The results show that as the thickness increase, the reflection loss peak starts to form at much lower frequency range with the minimum reflection loss peak was -14dB (10 GHz) of thickness 3 mm. Thus, this research is conducted to synthesize and investigate the electromagnetic wave absorption properties of an absorbers at different thicknesses

Ijarah Accounting: A Comparison Between IFRS and AAOIFI Framework

    No full text
Matric: 3232431 (FEM)Ijarah is a Sharia-compliant contractual relationship where an Islamic banking institution assigns the usufruct or right to use a particular asset to a client over a specified time in exchange of specified rental payments where the bank has retained legal ownership and risks associated with the asset. This paper presents a comparative analysis on how Ijarah (Islamic leasing) is treated by International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Accounting and Auditing Organization of Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) standards, with respect to the recurring reporting difference witnessed between Islamic Financial Institutions. This paper is concerned with the lessor point of view on Ijarah Muntahiah Bittamleek (IMBT) or lease to own agreement that exemplifies the conflict between the focus of the legal form and Shariah observance of the AAOIFI and the principle of substance over form used in the IFRS. The disclosure and accounting treatment between the two standards is being compared in the study. To establish the differences between jurisdictional differences, a comparative qualitative approach was taken, where the eight IFIs were considered in a study, four of them are AAOIFI adopting banks operating in Bahrain and Oman and another four are IFRS adopting banks operating in Malaysia with 2 years of annual report being compared. Results indicate that under AAOIFI, IMBT is considered as an operating lease, and the asset remains on the balance sheet of the lessor and the rental income is realised less depreciation, but under IFRS the same contract is considered a finance lease and the asset is not recognised and a financial receivable or right of use asset with a corresponding lease liability are recorded. This duality undermines comparability, transparency and compliance within jurisdictions. The paper advises the issuance of joint guidance by the standard setters to align lessor accounting under the new AAOIFI FAS 32 and IFRS 16 standard, to increase the global standard of consistency and maintain Shariah integrity

Cancer Classification Challenges in High-Dimensional Microarray Data: An In-Depth Exploration of Machine Learning Models

    No full text
Indexed by MyCiteMicroarray gene expression profiling has transformed biomedical research by enabling large-scale, parallel analysis of thousands of genes. Despite its promise, cancer classification using Machine Learning (ML) on microarray data continues to face critical challenges, particularly due to high dimensionality, limited sample sizes, and severe class imbalance. These factorscontribute to overfitting, poor generalization, and inflated performance metrics, hinderingthe clinical translationof models. This Structured LiteratureReview (SLR) examines ML-based cancer classification studies published between 2015 and 2025. This period was marked by the emergence of deep learning, synthetic data generation, and biologically informed modeling. Using a transparent selection protocol, we synthesize findings from over 20 peer-reviewed studies. The review focuses on three methodological pillars: biologically grounded feature selection, constrained data augmentation, and robust performance evaluation. We identify a growing trend toward hybrid feature selection methods that balance statistical relevance and biological interpretability. However, comparative benchmarking across datasets remains limited. Data augmentation techniques, such asSynthetic Minority Oversampling Technique(SMOTE) and Generative Adversarial Networks(GAN)s, are increasingly being adopted. However, they often lack biological validation. This raises concerns about the plausibility of synthetic gene profiles. To address this, we recommend integratingpathway-level constraints and gene ontology checks during the augmentation process. Furthermore, we observe that many studies disproportionately emphasize accuracy. This can misrepresent the model's efficacyin imbalanced settings. Metrics such as Matthews Correlation Coefficient (MCC), F1-score, and precision-recall curves offer more reliable insights. These metrics should be standardized across evaluations. External validation using independent datasets is also essential to assess generalizability. In addition, ithelps mitigate dataset-specific bias. Based on the findings, we present a conceptual hybrid framework that integrates biologically informed feature selection, biologically constrained data augmentation, and balanced evaluation protocols. This framework is intended to enhance reproducibility, biological fidelity, and translational reliability in machine learning-based cancer diagnostics, thereby contributing to the advancement of precision oncology.Indexed publicatio

Evaluation of User-Centred Design in the User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) of a Gamified Edutainment Application on Disaster Preparedness

    No full text
Indexed by MyCiteRecent years have witnessed a rise in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters, disproportionately affecting vulnerable communities, as reported by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR, 2022). Public preparedness, particularly among youth and rural populations, remains limited due to the absence of accessible and engaging educational tools. Conventional approaches often lack interactivity, reducing knowledge retention and behavioural change. To address these gaps, this study developed DisasterPrep, a user-centred mobile edutainment solution designed to enhance disaster awareness and preparedness. The research pursued three objectives: (i) to identify knowledge gaps among target users, (ii) to design a gamified mobile application tailored to their needs, and (iii) to evaluate its effectiveness in improving preparedness and resilience. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, including surveys, focus groups, and co-design workshops, followed by prototype testing with 30 participants in Malaysia. Quantitative data were collected through a structured survey measuring User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) using a 5-point Likert scale, with descriptive statistics computed for usability and engagement. Results revealed strong usability, with UI mean scores ranging from 4.04 to 4.60 and UX outcomes between 4.20 and 4.56. Tutorials, navigation flow, and progress tracking emerged as the most valued features, while simulation realism and quiz integration revealed more variable responses. Findings confirm alignment with Malaysia’s MySTIE strategic goals and contributions to SDG 3 (Good Health) and SDG 4 (Quality Education). This research demonstrates that gamified, user-centred mobile tools can significantly enhance disaster preparedness education, offering a scalable, inclusive model to strengthen community resilience. The novelty lies in integrating edutainment with structured evaluation, establishing a replicable framework for disaster education that bridges gaps in interactivity, engagement, and scalability.Indexed publicatio

    No full text
Islamic legal theory (uṣūl al-fiqh) provides the methodological foundation for deriving rulings and regulating juristic reasoning. Among its core tools, ijtihād, qiyās, and taʿlīl exhibit a complex conceptual and methodological overlap that has sparked extensive debate, particularly regarding whether qiyās should be viewed as a purely ijtihād-based act or an independent source of law. This study addresses the problem of terminological and functional ambiguity among these tools and its impact on the application of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah in contemporary contexts. It introduces an innovative approach by employing the concept of analogy to explore their interrelationship, analyzing al-Shāfiʿī’s foundational views and surveying the methodologies of major uṣūlī schools. Through a comparative and analytical framework, the research proposes a practical model that balances textual fidelity with maqāṣid-oriented reasoning. The implications of this study lie in clarifying methodological ambiguities and establishing a maqāṣid-driven paradigm for legal reasoning, opening new avenues for developing and regulating ijtihād in line with modern challenges
