Histological advantages of two-component fibrin mesh (TachoSil) compared with polypropylene mesh after placementin the inguinal region in laboratory rats: Histološke prednosti dvo-komponentne fibrinske mreže (TachoSil) v primerjavi s polipropilensko mrežo po vstavitvipod mišični sloj in nad transverzalno fascijo v podganah
Hernia repair surgeries are among the most common procedures in both veterinary and human medi-cine, with various mesh options available for surgeons repairing the transversalis fascia. This study compared a variant of two-component fibrin mesh (TachoSil) and polypropylene mesh in reconstruct-ing the transversalis fascia by placing them in the inguinal region in Fischer laboratory rats. Specifically, the TachoSil or fibrin mesh was implanted into the groin region of Fischer rats, and after 30 days of mesh placement, the rats were sacrificed, the fibrous plate with either inserted mesh removed, and the tissue sent for histological analysis. The results showed that, compared with the polypropylene mesh, the implanted TachoSil mesh resulted in fewer postoperative complications and lower inflammatory cell presence.Operacije hernije so ena izmed najbolj pogostih operacij tako v veterinarski kot človeški medicini in na voljo je široka izbira glede mreže, ki jo kirurgi uporabljajo za popravo transverzalne fascije. Primerjali smo dvo-komponentno fibrinsko mrežo TachoSil in polipropilensko mrežo pri rekonstrukciji transverzalne fascije po vstavitvi pod mišični sloj in nad transverzalno fascijo pri podganah. Podganam vrste Fischer je bila vstavljena ali polipropilenska ali fibrinska mrežica pod mišični sloj in nad transverzalno fascijo. 30 dni po posegu so bile podgane žrtvovane, fibrinska ploščica z mrežicama je bila odstranjena ter poslana na histološko analizo. Ugotovili smo, da so podgane z dvo-komponentno mrežico imele manj pooperativnih komplikacij, ter manjšo prisotnost vnetnih celic, kar je povezano z večjo verjetnostjo za uspešno popravilo hernije
Vladimir Bartol in film
Vladimir Bartol and Film. The article deals with Vladimir Bartol’s attitude towards film. Film is present in Bartol’s artistic prose primarily as a means of stereotypically characterising female figures. His unpublished diary entries, however, show a different picture. Here, he compares his works of fiction with various movies, mentioning plans for the filming of his works and revealing his view on the question of why his novel Alamut did not see the planned feature-length film adaptation.Članek obravnava odnos Vladimirja Bartola do filma. Film je v Bartolovi umetniški prozi navzoč predvsem kot sredstvo stereotipne karakterizacije ženskih likov. Drugače je v njegovih neobjavljenih dnevniških zapiskih – v njih svoja leposlovna dela primerja z raznimi filmskimi stvaritvami, omenja načrte za ekranizacijo svojih del in razkriva svoj pogled na vprašanje, zakajroman Alamut ni doživel načrtovane celovečerne filmske uprizoritve
INFRARDEČA TERMOGRAFIJA PRI ODKRIVANJU VODNEGA STRESA V RASTLINAH
Rastline in zeleni otoki v urbanih območjih so eden od načinov za ublažitev podnebnih sprememb in zmanjšanje povpraševanja po energiji za klimatske naprave. Tako kot ljudje so tudi rastline izpostavljene učinku mestnega toplotnega otoka, ki se kaže v tem, da so temperature zraka v urbanih območjih v povprečju za 2‒5 °C višje kot na podeželju. Poleg tega so rastline izpostavljene vodnemu stresu, ki nastane, ko količina razpoložljive vode presega ali pade pod potrebe rastlin po vodi. Prispevek prikazuje porast povpraševanja po električni energiji s posebnim poudarkom na Hrvaški, Sloveniji in državah s podobno porabo električne energije. Učinki mestnega toplotnega otoka so prikazani z grafično primerjavo iz novejše literature. Infrardeča termografija kot ena od metod za zaznavanje vodnega stresa je pojasnjena s fizikalnim ozadjem zaznavanja dolgovalovnega sevanja in primerjana z digitalno fotografijo blizu infrardečega sevanja. Predstavljeni so vsi možni vidiki detekcije sevanja, ki nastanejo pri termografski analizi. Podan je poseben pregled pomanjkanja vode, njegovi učinki pa so prikazani na primerih višine rastline in velikosti cvetov. Uporaba infrardeče termografije pri zaznavanju pomanjkanja vode je prikazana s termogrami pšenice na suhem polju in po namakanju. Na podlagi predstavljenega so sklepali o možnostih uporabe infrardeče termografije pri detekciji vodnega stresa.Plants and green islands in urban areas are one way to mitigate climate change and reduce the energy demand for air conditioning. Like humans, plants are also exposed to the urban heat island effect, which manifests itself in the fact that air temperatures in urban areas are on average 2-5°C higher than in rural areas. In addition, plants are exposed to water stress, which occurs when the amount of available water exceeds or falls short of the plants\u27 water requirements. The paper presents an increase in electricity demand, with a special focus on Croatia, Slovenia and countries with similar electricity consumption. The effects of the urban heat island are illustrated using a graphical comparison from the recent literature. Infrared thermography, as one of the methods for detecting water stress, is explained with the physical background of long-wave radiation detection, and compared with near infrared digital photography. All possible aspects are presented of radiation detection that occur during thermographic analysis. A specific overview of water stress is given, and its effects are illustrated using examples of plant height and flower size. The application of infrared thermography in the detection of water stress is illustrated using thermograms of wheat in a dry field and after irrigation. ZASNOVA PLOVILA WFOIL 18 ALBATROSS Z VODIKOVIMI TEHNOLOGIJAMI
This article discusses the design of fuel cell propulsion for 18 albatross foil vessels. The purpose of this article determined the economic viability of such propulsion. WFoil 18 Albatross was chosen for a high-speed, low-power propulsion system.
The hydrogen propulsion system for the Albatross vessel consists of the following parts:
Electric motor (Emrax 188) to convert electricity into mechanical energy;
Battery (LG RESU 3.2EX | LG Battery System), which provides electricity in case of emergency or adds the necessary energy to run the engine at maximum power;
Controller (EmDrive 500), which provides enough energy to pass between the elements of the propulsion system;
Fuel cell (Hydrogenics HYPM-HD 30 POWER MODULE), which is the primary source of energy;
The tank (tank for hydrogen gas type 3) stores fuel, which in our case is hydrogen.
The brackets indicate the parts that have been selected for the hydrogen propulsion system. The approximate weight of all these parts is about 249.1 kg and the price of all these parts is about 55254 €. All prices are from 2020 and are subject to change. The main idea in the construction of this charging station is the use of seawater and solar energy or renewable energy sources for hydrogen production. The components of the charging station are Solar cells (LG NeON 2), Desalination (CRYSTAL EX PURE), Electrolysis (Nel C Series C10), and Charging station (Haskel (Version with air compressor)). All prices are from 2020 and are subject to change.Ta članek obravnava zasnovo pogona na gorivne celice za 18 plovil albatrosa. Namen tega članka je določil ekonomsko upravičenost takšnega pogona. WFoil 18 Albatross je bil izbran za pogonski sistem visoke hitrosti in nizke moči.
Pogonski sistem na vodik za plovilo Albatros je sestavljen iz naslednjih delov:
- Elektromotor (Emrax 188) za pretvorbo električne energije v mehansko;
- Baterija (LG RESU 3.2EX | LG Battery System), ki zagotavlja elektriko v nujnih primerih ali doda potrebno energijo za delovanje motorja z največjo močjo;
- Krmilnik (EmDrive 500), ki zagotavlja dovolj energije za prehajanje med elementi pogonskega sistema;
- Gorivna celica (Hydrogenics HYPM-HD 30 POWER MODULE), ki je primarni vir energije;
- Rezervoar (rezervoar za plin vodik tip 3) hrani gorivo, ki je v našem primeru vodik.
Oklepaji označujejo dele, ki so bili izbrani za pogonski sistem na vodik. Približna teža vseh teh delov je približno 249,1 kg, cena vseh teh delov pa je približno 55254 €. Vse cene so od leta 2020 in se lahko spremenijo. Glavna ideja pri izgradnji te polnilnice je uporaba morske vode in sončne energije oziroma obnovljivih virov energije za proizvodnjo vodika. Sestavni deli polnilne postaje so sončne celice (LG NeON 2), razsoljevanje (CRYSTAL EX PURE), elektroliza (Nel C serije C10) in polnilna postaja (Haskel (različica z zračnim kompresorjem)). Oklepaji označujejo dele, ki so bili izbrani za polnilno postajo. Približna teža vseh teh delov je približno 10236 kg, cena vseh teh delov pa je približno 517664 €. VERIFIKACIJA IN VALIDACIJA ŠTUDENTOVEGA CFD-ORODJA NA OHIŠJU VENTURIJEVEGA PRETOKA
The main goal of this study is to investigate the usability of the CFD software ANSYS Student 2023 R1 for students` scientific research. To carry out this investigation, a comparison was carried out of the analytically calculated flow rates through a standard venturi tube with the results obtained by simulations of the flow in the specified program. Given that it is a student, free version of the program, which comes with certain limitations, proving its usability by performing verification and validation on known geometry would be of great benefit. To ensure comparability, a 3D model of the venturi tube was created in accordance with the ISO 5167 Standard. The flow rate was calculated on that selected geometry of the venturi tube, using the well-known equations of fluid mechanics. The selected geometry of the venturi tube was discretised in the ANSYS Student 2023 program, respecting all CFD rules. Comparison of these two sets of results showed a match within 5%.Glavni cilj te študije je raziskati uporabnost programske opreme CFD ANSYS Student 2023 R1 za znanstveno raziskovanje študentov. Za izvedbo te preiskave je bila izvedena primerjava analitično izračunanih pretokov skozi standardno venturijevo cev z rezultati, pridobljenimi s simulacijami pretoka v navedenem programu. Glede na to, da gre za študentsko, brezplačno različico programa, ki ima določene omejitve, bi bilo dokazovanje njegove uporabnosti s preverjanjem in validacijo na znani geometriji zelo koristno. Za zagotovitev primerljivosti je bil izdelan 3D-model venturijeve cevi v skladu s standardom ISO 5167. Hitrost pretoka je bila izračunana na izbrani geometriji venturijeve cevi z uporabo dobro znanih enačb mehanike tekočin. Izbrana geometrija venturijeve cevi je bila diskretizirana v programu ANSYS Student 2023 ob upoštevanju vseh pravil CFD. Primerjava teh dveh rezultatov je pokazala ujemanje znotraj 5 %
Nasvay as a Smokeless Tobacco Product: An Examination of Methods of Use, Effects on Health, and Regulatory Aspects
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effect of nasvay on oral health in the Kyrgyz Republic. The study utilized a mixed-methods approach, combining a standardized questionnaire and dental examinations of 2,388 participants. It is determined that 32.9% of schoolchildren, 41.1% of students, and 35.7% of rural residents use nasvay. The prevalence rate is higher among men. The use of nasvay is associated with a high prevalence of dental diseases: leukoplakia, hyperaemia, and swelling of the mucous membrane. The index of caries, fillings, and lost teeth in users is 6.8. Among the methods of use, the most popular is in the cheek. It is discovered that the availability and low cost of nasvay contribute to its widespread use. The need for comprehensive preventive measures is emphasised, including increased regulation, educational campaigns, and reduction of economic dependence on the production of nasvay
The Right to Die Through the Analysis of the Slovenian Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill
This article provides an analysis of the Slovenian Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill, in both its previous and amended versions, which is founded upon the paradigm “My life, my right”. The original bill, which was regarded as highly liberal, contained numerous exceptions that effectively allowed euthanasia for all individuals with chronic illnesses or disabilities. This analysis critically examines the most controversial legal provisions of the bill and anticipates consequences should it be implemented, particularly from the perspective of vulnerable healthcare users. The analysis demonstrates that the original formulation of the right to medically assisted dying conflicts with the foundational principles of the healthcare system and is inconsistent with the Patient Rights Act. The amended Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill provides physicians with the options to both reject medically assisted dying applications and to employ safeguards to protect patients in transitional distress from premature death
Factors Affecting Mental Health Among Police Officers in the State of Kedah Malaysia
Mental health among law enforcement personnel has become a growing concern, raising questions about institutional responsibility and legal protections within the workplace. This study explores the factors influencing mental health among Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) members at IPK Kedah, focusing on legal and organizational implications. The research aims to identify key stressors and examine whether age and job rank correlate with psychological well-being, using a quantitative approach involving 100 respondents who completed structured questionnaires. Findings reveal that occupational stress is the leading contributor (mean = 4.821), followed by personal/family (4.392) and social factors (3.895). Pearson correlation shows significant positive relationships between mental health issues and both age (r = 0.416) and position (r = 0.398), with p < 0.05. The paper argues for the urgent need to strengthen mental health policies within policing institutions and contends that legal reform and administrative intervention are essential to safeguarding officers\u27 psychological welfare
Strategic Integration of Sustainability, Circular Economy, and Blockchain in Slovenian Urban Governance
Slovenia has 12 urban municipalities, each with a sustainable development strategy aligned with the Agenda 2030 framework and valid through 2030. This paper examines how these strategies incorporate emerging technologies, particularly blockchain, and innovative sustainability concepts such as the circular economy. Achieving the goals of Agenda 2030, especially transitioning to a circular economy, requires doubling energy efficiency by 2030. While blockchain and the circular economy have often been studied separately, this research explores their intersection within the context of urban sustainability. The study applies qualitative content analysis to the official development strategies of all 12 urban municipalities. This analysis is complemented by semi-structured interviews with senior officials from the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy, and the Vice Mayor of Ljubljana, providing institutional perspectives on strategic priorities and implementation logic. This is the first comprehensive analysis of how Slovenian urban municipalities address the interconnected themes of sustainability, circular economy, and blockchain technology. The findings contribute to academic discussions and offer practical recommendations to enhance innovation in urban sustainability planning.
Povzetek članka v slovenskem jeziku (abstract in Slovene language):
Slovenija ima 12 mestnih občin, vsaka z lastno strategijo trajnostnega razvoja, ki je usklajena z okvirom Agende 2030. Prispevek preučuje, kako te strategije vključujejo nove tehnologije, zlasti tehnologijo veriženja blokov (blockchain), ter inovativne trajnostne koncepte, kot je krožno gospodarstvo. Za dosego ciljev Agende 2030, predvsem pri prehodu na krožno gospodarstvo, je treba do leta 2030 podvojiti energetsko učinkovitost. Medtem ko sta blockchain in krožno gospodarstvo pogosto raziskana ločeno, ta raziskava proučuje njuno presečišče v kontekstu trajnosti mest. Študija uporablja kvalitativno analizo vsebine uradnih razvojnih strategij vseh 12 mestnih občin. Analizo dopolnjujejo polstrukturirani intervjuji z visokimi uradniki Ministrstva za okolje, podnebje in energijo ter s podžupanom Mestne občine Ljubljana, ki podajo institucionalne poglede na strateške prioritete. To je prva celovita analiza, kako slovenske mestne občine obravnavajo medsebojno povezane teme trajnosti, krožnega gospodarstva in tehnologije veriženja blokov. Ugotovitve prispevajo k akademskim razpravam in ponujajo praktična priporočila za krepitev inovativnosti pri načrtovanju trajnostnega razvoja mest.

OB OBLETNICI FORMIRANJA IN DELOVANJA PREKMURSKE BRIGADE LETA 1945
V letu 2025 bomo obeleževali 80-obletnico konca 2. svetovne vojne in s tem tudi dokončne osvoboditve slovenskih pokrajin izpod okupatorskih oblasti. Vojaško-zgodovinski viri partizanstvo v Prekmurju prikazujejo kot posebno. Razlogov je več, od geografskih in topografskih, do političnih, ker je bilo Prekmurje od decembra 1941 priključeno Kraljevini Madžarski in tako v posebnem okupacijskem režimu in razmerah. To pa velja tudi za zaključek vojne, saj je bilo Prekmurje prva osvobojena slovenska pokrajina. Na podlagi proučitve dostopnih virov predstavljam oblikovanje in delovanje edine večje prekmurske partizanske enote - Prekmurske brigade. Ta je bila ustanovljena na dan (prvega) podpisa kapitulacije Nacistične Nemčije - 7. 5. 1945 in delovala v Sloveniji do 30. 5., zatem pa bila še deset dni razporejena v Ivniku (Eibiswaldu) v Avstriji, nakar so jo demobilizirali, del kadra pa razporedili v preostale enote 14. divizije Jugoslovanske armade. Raziskovanje bazira na praktično edinem uradnem vojaško-zgodovinskem dokumentu o 1. slovenski prekomurski brigadi in domačem zborniku o Prekmurski brigadi. K temu so dodani dogodki, ki so predhodili oblikovanju brigade in kažejo na posebnosti narodnoosvobodilnega boja v Prekmurju. Tega in nekaterih ugotovitev iz analize dostopnih virov in dokumentov, ki do sedaj niso bili toliko izpostavljeni, se lotevam v razpravi
