Background: This study examines how female victims of sexual violence use social media as a platform to express their experiences and resist silencing in the context of a patriarchal society. Methods: Utilizing a social semiotics approach that encompasses analysis at three levels: language, situational context, and cultural context, this research identifies and analyzes patterns of victim disclosure, the actors involved, and power dynamics that influence the processes of silencing and resistance. Finding: The analysis results indicate that the unequal relationship between female victims and male perpetrators affects the victims' ability to express refusal and identify the actions experienced as rape. However, through expression in ideational, interpersonal, and textual functions, female victims demonstrate resistance to silencing. Situational and cultural context analysis reveals that victim disclosure not only focuses on themes of rape and struggle against psychological pressure and intimidation from perpetrators but also on myths about rape that ignore victims' resistance and justify victims' faults. Conclusion: This study provides new insights into power dynamics in the context of sexual violence and the role of social media in facilitating resistance and recovery for female victims
