Background: The increasing awareness of health among consumers has led to a growing interest in natural products such as pure honey. Particularly among Muslim consumers, the decision to consume pure honey is often influenced by beliefs regarding its health benefits. Methods: This study employed a quantitative approach using survey data collected from Muslim consumers. A total of 300 respondents were analyzed to understand the relationship between health awareness and the consumption of pure honey. The study utilized statistical analysis to examine the impact of health awareness on consumers’ attitudes, reasons for consumption, and reasons for non-consumption. Additionally, a mediation analysis was conducted to explore the role of consumption reasons in the relationship between health awareness and attitudes. Findings: The results indicated that health awareness positively influenced consumers' attitudes toward pure honey and their reasons for consuming it. However, health awareness did not significantly affect reasons for non-consumption. The reason for consumption acted as a partial mediator in the relationship between health awareness and attitudes. Consumers with high health awareness were more likely to believe in the benefits of pure honey and were less concerned about doubts regarding the product’s authenticity. Over half of the respondents identified health as the primary motivation for consuming pure honey, with regular consumption observed among the majority. Conclusion: This study emphasizes the significant role of health awareness in shaping the consumption behavior of pure honey among Muslim consumers. Health awareness positively influences consumers' attitudes and motivations to consume pure honey, highlighting the importance of transparency and product certification in marketing. Businesses in the pure honey industry can enhance consumer trust and market position by focusing on the health benefits and authenticity of their products. Novelty/Originality of this article:  It provides novel insights into the mediating role of consumption motivations in the relationship between health awareness and product attitudes, offering practical implications for marketing strategies in the health-conscious consumer market

Muslim feminism: A systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis

    No full text
Background: Islamic feminism has emerged as a critical epistemological framework that integrates gender justice with Islamic values, necessitating systematic exploration due to its fragmented and context-dependent nature. This study aims to map the development of Islamic feminism through a Systematic Literature Review using the PRISMA framework to identify theoretical trends and gaps within the field. While it promotes women's agency through contextual, faith-based strategies, its acceptance remains contested due to political resistance and limited intersectional solidarity. Methods: This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA framework to evaluate literature on Islamic feminism as an epistemological approach in Islamic studies. Articles were collected from the Scopus database, limited to English-language publications from 1990 to 2025. Bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer to map keyword trends, author networks, and citation relationships among the literature. Findings: The findings reveal a significant development in the discourse of Islamic feminism, particularly in the Global North and in Muslim-majority countries such as Iran and Indonesia. The main emerging themes include the reinterpretation of religious texts and critiques of patriarchal social structures within Muslim societies. However, the integration of hermeneutical approaches and social critique into a cohesive epistemological framework remains suboptimal. Conclusion: This study concludes that Muslim feminism is a dynamic and expanding discourse that emphasizes culturally grounded social experiences and epistemological reform in Islamic thought. Its global and transnational character highlights its role as both a theoretical and practical framework for advancing justice, equality, and contextual scholarship in contemporary Islamic studies. Novelty/Originality of this article: Ultimately, this review provides a comprehensive analysis that contributes to the academic development of Islamic feminism and informs educational and policy-oriented practices aligned with human rights and social justice

    No full text
Background: Character education is a foundational aspect of Islamic education, particularly at the primary level, where students begin to internalize moral and social values. In Indonesia, boarding-based madrasah institutions offer a unique environment for character formation due to their immersive and socially intensive settings. This study aims to explore the extent to which character-building strategies based on the sociology of education contribute to the character development of sixth-grade students at MIN 1 Banyumas, a state Islamic elementary school with a residential program. The theoretical framework draws from sociological theories emphasizing the role of structured social environments in shaping individual behavior and identity. The strategies examined in this study include daily habituation practices, exemplary modeling by educators and caregivers, value-based communication, and intentional peer interaction designed to reinforce shared norms and ethics. Methods: This research employs a quantitative associative design involving total sampling of all students living in the school’s dormitory. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had undergone tests for validity and reliability. The data were then analyzed using simple linear regression to determine the relationship between character-building strategies and character outcomes. Findings: The results reveal a statistically significant influence, with a p-value of 0.045 and an R-squared value of 0.136. These findings suggest that 13.6 percent of the variance in character development can be attributed to the implemented strategies. Conclusion: The study concludes that character formation in Islamic boarding environments benefits significantly from structured, socially embedded educational strategies. Novelty/Originality of this article: It calls for the institutionalization of sociologically grounded approaches to character education that are sensitive to students’ daily interactions, cultural context, and moral experiences

The narratives of ten blogs written by Iranian Muslims were analyzed through qualitative content analysis. The theoretical framework of this study is based on Edward Said's Orientalism Theory. Target blogs are written in English or Persian language. Findings: The result displays that although Iranian bloggers live in various Western countries, such as Germany, England, Canada, and the United States; they narrate and share their Shia culture and identity in their virtual pages. Conclusion: This research highlights how Iranian Muslims use blogs as a platform to represent their faith and culture, challenging the stereotypes and misconceptions prevalent in the West. Novelty/Originality of This Study: The study provides insights into how Iranian Muslims utilize cyberspace to narrate their own religious and cultural experiences, offering a perspective that contrasts with the often negative portrayal of Muslims in Western media

The purpose of this study is to analyze PKS's strategy to build women's political participation in its da'wah activities. The crisis of democracy is rationally caused by the lack of formal participation of the community, especially women in national politics. PKS has not maximized in utilizing alternative forms of women's participation through social media to fulfill affirmative policies. The efforts made by PKS have not been maximized in utilizing the strong influence of the media effects of the 4.0 era to increase women's political participation. The theoretical reference used is the theory proposed by Aeron Davis "Citizens, media effect and public participation" (Aeron Davis, 2019: 109-129). The concept of women's political participation in political parties can be brought closer to the term Ummah. This word is  repeated 64 times  in the word of Allah S.W.T, which is found among others in  the 3rd surah (Ali-Imran) verse 110 and the 2nd surah (al-Baqarah) verse 143 and the 3rd surah (Ali-Imran) verse 110.  Khyar means the best option, found in QS. As-Shaad [38]: 47. 'Aqibah which means impact or effect which in the Qur'an is mentioned 31 times of which is found in QS. Al-A'raf [7]: 128. This research paradigm is a critical paradigm using da'wah communication approaches, political communication, political parties and women's political participation. The research method consists of a type of research, namely descriptive qualitative. From this research, it can be seen that PKS encourages women to actively participate in politics as a manifestation of healthy democracy. Political awareness is built by conducting cadres every week through Ta'lim. The media used by PKS to build women's political participation is predominantly carried out through direct communication and is still minimal in the use of social media
