Cartels are anti-competitive conducts prohibited by competition law that distort the functioning of the market and overcharge customers. Compensation of the victims of cartels is enforceable against any of the parties who participated in the infringement, who are jointly and severally liable. This paper examines the joint and several liability in the truck manufacturers cartel. To date, the issue has arisen on an occasional basis in a few cases in claims against DAF, Daimler, MAN, IVECO and Volvo/Renault (with an incorrect solution by several Courts of Appeal). The issue gains momentum in the claims against Scania, with a longer time period of the action (in any interpretation of the dies a quo), more beneficial for the claimants: Scania is also jointly and severally liable for the overcharges caused by the truck cartel.

This paper proposes an analysis of the toponymy of the Conventum Asturum of Roman Empire, based on both ancient documentary sources and some current place names. Beyond the strictly etymological and evolutionary discussion, the proposal seeks a coherent systematization of the onomastic forms involved, considering their semantic-referential value as well as their distribution across the territory and possible coreferences. The ultimate purpose is to investigate possible indications of a basic mental organization of the Astur-Roman space (from the Esla basin in the south to the Asturian coast in the north), as possible conditioning factors of the Romanization process of the territory and, therefore, of the configuration of our linguistic space as we know it.En este artículo se propone un análisis de la toponimia del Conventum Asturum romano a partir tanto de las fuentes documentales antiguas como de varias formas orales actuales.
Teachers’ professional development (TPD) plays a crucial role in enhancing teachers’ knowledge and competencies. Due to rapid technological changes, online TPD has become popular worldwide, including in Indonesia. Nevertheless, teacher participation in online TPD in Indonesia remains relatively limited, primarily due to challenges commonly encountered in developing countries. This study aims to examine the determinants of teachers’ engagement in online TPD by employing the Theory of Planned Behavior. This study employs an online survey involving 255 senior high school teachers and analyzes using structural equation modeling. The results demonstrate that teachers’ engagement in online TPD is directly influenced by their intention and perceived behavioral control. Furthermore, teachers’ intention is significantly shaped by three exogenous variables: attitudes toward the behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. The findings also reveal that intention mediates the indirect effects of the three exogenous variables on teachers' engagement in online TPD. These results underscore the necessity of fostering a supportive environment through social encouragement from school administrators, colleagues, and professional networks. Moreover, adequate technological and financial support is essential to enhance teachers’ effective use of online learning platforms. Emphasizing meaningful professional development beyond certification can promote more engaging and impactful learning experiences for teachers.Teachers’ professional development (TPD) plays a crucial role in enhancing teachers’ knowledge and competencies. Rituals of Sisterhood: Queer Girlhood and Trauma in Julia Armfield’s Private Rites (2024)
This article examines Julia Armfield’s Private Rites (2024) through the intertwined lenses of intersectional girlhood, queer identity, and trauma theory. Drawing on recent work in girlhood studies, the analysis foregrounds Armfield’s depiction of three sisters—Isla, Irene, and Agnes—who struggle to navigate familial estrangement, the burdens of intergenerational trauma, and the precarities of queer adolescence within a climate-crisis dystopia. The study situates the novel against postfeminist cultural backdrops, resisting narratives of seamless empowerment and instead highlighting how trauma unsettles narrative and lived experience. Intersectionality (Crenshaw 1991; Collins 2000) underpins the discussion of privilege and vulnerability among the sisters, while queer theory (Sedgwick 1993; Halberstam 1998) illuminates Agnes’s affective and embodied navigation of sexuality and identity. Literary trauma theory is used to interpret Armfield’s narrative techniques, including fragmentation and nonlinear chronology, which reflect the persistence of wound and memory. Ultimately, the article argues that Private Rites advances contemporary fiction by probing the unstable ties of sisterhood, the affective volatility of queer girlhood, and the cyclical inheritance of trauma, offering a textured vision of survival that is marked by misrecognition, longing, and endurance
