    MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BAHASA ANAK USIA DINI 5-6 TAHUN (Studi tentang Pra dan Post Penerapan Metode Labatu di Kelompok Bermain Santo Vincentius A Paulo Kupang)

    This research aims to evaluate children's language abilities before and after implementing the Labatu method, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and measure the effectiveness of the method. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to describe the influence of the Labatu method in improving the language skills of young children aged 5-6 years in the Santo Vincentius A Paulo Kupang Playgroup. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation, and data analysis. The research results showed that before implementing the Labatu method, children experienced limited vocabulary, difficulty in forming sentences, and low understanding of expressive and receptive language. On the other hand, after effectively implementing the Labatu method, it was proven that children's language skills had significantly increased in terms of vocabulary, speaking ability and understanding of instructions. This method is considered to really support holistic learning, creating a pleasant learning environment and encouraging social interaction as well as the active role of parents and teachers in supporting the language development of children aged 5-6 years at the Santo Vincentius A Paulo Kupang Playgroup

    PENGARUH PENERAPAN UNDANG-UNDANG PERLINDUNGAN ANAK TERHADAP PEMBERIAN PUNISHMENT KEPADA PESERTA DIDIK DI SMAK SINT CAROLUS KUPANG

    This study aims to examine the effect of the implementation of the Child Protection Law on the practice of giving punishment at Sint Carolus Catholic High School, Kupang. This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational approach. The results of data analysis using descriptive techniques indicate that the implementation of the Child Protection Law at Sint Carolus Catholic High School, Kupang is very good (93.13%) and the giving of punishment is very good (90.21%). In addition, the results of a simple linear regression analysis show a significant positive effect between the implementation of the Child Protection Law and the giving of punishment (regression coefficient = 0.922, p < 0.05). Even though there is an effect between these two variables, the most important thing to note is that the use of punishment in education must be educational and not exceed the limits regulated by the Child Protection Law. This finding illustrates that although punishment at Sint Carolus Catholic High School, Kupang is implemented well, it is necessary to continue to monitor it so as not to violate children's rights. The implications of this study suggest the need for a more careful approach in giving punishment in order to be in accordance with the objectives of educating and protecting children

    This research examines the efforts of coaches to increase active participation in OMK church life at the Namo Pecawir Paroki St. John Paul II Namo Pecawir-Tuntungan station. The purpose of this study was to find out the efforts of coaches to increase the active participation of young Catholics in church life. This type of research is qualitative research. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. Informants are divided into three parts, namely key informants, main informants and additional informants. The number of informants in this study amounted to 6 people, of which 1 coach, 1 coordinator, 1 church administrator and 3 young Catholics. The result is that the coach's efforts to increase active participation in OMK church life have been carried out and are running well. The efforts of OMK coaches and church life have been good, but in practice it should be further improved and developed again in various activities. Especially in mutual cooperation activities, environmental prayer, liturgical officers, and deepening of faith. The presence of OMK must be further enhanced to support the development of church life. The coach's efforts in providing direction, accompanying, and becoming a friend for OMK are further enhanced so that they have a good influence on the development of OMK

    The aim of this research is to determine the influence of school pastoralism on the character formation of Catholic religious students at St. Catholic Middle School. Maria Assumpta New City Kupang. This study uses a qualitative method. The sample in this study was 30 people consisting of 1 school teacher, 24 teachers and 5 people.  The data collection technique used in the research was carried out using interviews and documentation studies, while the data analysis technique in this qualitative research was by using the power collection, data reduction, data display and data ferifying techniques. The results of the research show that school pastoral care has a huge impact in shaping the character of Catholic students, this cannot be separated from the support and assistance of parents. This is shown through the results of research using interview methods with school principals, teachers and parents

    PENGARUH MEDIA SOSIAL TERHADAP KESEHATAN MENTAL MAHASISWA (Studi Kasus di Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Katolik Regio Timor Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur)

    This study aims to explore the relationship between social media and mental health of students in two pastoral colleges in Timor Region. The results of descriptive analysis showed that the majority of students (69.81%) actively use social media, while most of them (69.88%) have a good level of mental health. Inferential analysis showed a t-value of 3.307 with a significance level of 0.001, which is significantly lower than the general threshold of 0.05. This indicates that there is strong evidence that social media use has a positive and significant effect on the mental health of students in both pastoral colleges. Recommendations from this study include efforts to improve understanding of the risks and benefits of social media use through targeted education. In addition, it is recommended to develop a policy on responsible social media use in the academic environment. Counseling support and resources related to mental health also need to be improved to provide more effective assistance to students in managing their mental health. This study makes an important contribution to expanding the understanding of the impact of social media on mental health in the context of pastoral higher education. The practical implications of these findings are expected to assist educational institutions in developing more holistic strategies to support overall student well-being

    The reason this research was conducted was to examine parental parenting patterns and their impact on the spiritual intelligence of children in the St. John the Bath. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a description approach. The data analysis technique in this qualitative research is using data collection, data reduction, and display and data verifying techniques. The research results show that parents in the St. Yohanes Pemandi has not provided a good parenting style to the children. For this reason, parents need to make the home the first place for spiritual education so that children can grow in their spiritual life in the family and have an influence on other people in life in society

    PENERAPAN METODE DISCOVERY LEARNING PADA PEMBELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA KATOLIK

    The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of the results and the quality of the process of applying the discovery learning method to PAK learning, which can improve learning achievement for Class XI MIA 1 students in the 2021–2022 academic year. We collect data through observation, tests, and documentation. The results of research in the field prove that the results of research in each cycle indicate that the application of the discovery learning method can improve student achievement. The ability of student achievement increases in each cycle, where in Cycle I the number of scores obtained is 1,849, the class average is 71.11%, and the class mastery is 23.01% in the sufficient category and has not yet reached the KKM. In Cycle II the number of scores was 2,084, the class average was 80.15%, and the class completeness was 80.11%, which were in the good category and had reached the KKM. According to the author, the discovery learning method is highly suitable for students in class XI, MIA 1, to learn Catholic religious education. Based on the results obtained by the author, there is an increase in students' learning achievement, which includes cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects of learning Catholic religious education using the discovery learning method. Students know the quality of the results and the process of applying this method

    PENGARUH GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH TERHADAP KINERJA GURU DI SMP NEGERI LOTAS AMANATUN UTARA

    The purpose of this study was to find out the description and influence of the principal's leadership style on teacher performance at SMPN Negeri Lotas Amanatun Utara. This research uses quantitative methods. The sample in this study was 25 people consisting of 1 school principal, 22 teachers, and 2 employees. The data collection technique in this study was using a questionnaire, while the data analysis technique used descriptive statistical data analysis and inferential statistical data analysis. The results showed that the variable description of the principal's leadership style and teacher performance at SMP Negeri Lotas Amanatun Utara was in the good category, where the achievement of the variable indicator of the principal's leadership style was 66.4%, and the achievement indicator of the teacher's performance variable was 70.2%. In the influence test, the results obtained explained that there was a positive and significant influence of the principal's leadership style on teacher performance at Lotas Amanatun Utara Public Middle School. This is shown through the results of the inferential test where the principal's leadership style variable has a t value of 3,471. This t value is a significant value because the sig value is 0.002 or less than the specified 0.05 (alpha)

    STUDI TENTANG INTERAKSI SOSIAL ANTARA PESERTA DIDIK DI SDK SANTA MARIA ASSUMPTA KOTA KUPANG

    This research was carried out with the aim of examining the social interactions of students at SDK Santa Maria Assumpta, Kupang City. The results of the research show that the collaboration aspect obtained an indicator achievement of 71.11%, the communication aspect obtained an indicator achievement of 78.52%, the empathy aspect obtained an indicator achievement of 58.67%, the problem solving aspect obtained an indicator achievement of 68.52%, and the respect for diversity aspect achieved an indicator achievement of 85.56%. The positive impact of social interaction between students at SDK Maria Assumpta Kupang City is the creation of relationships and relations between students, students can improve their ability to communicate with other people, students are able to manage their emotions when facing challenges or problems in relationships with friends, teachers and school staff, students can transfer positive habits in their social interactions at school to their family life. Meanwhile, negative impacts include misunderstanding and bullying, dominating behavior towards other students who are in lower positions, as well as social restrictions which cause feelings of exclusion and social isolation for affected students. Efforts are made to create social interaction for students at SDK Santa Maria Assumpta, Kupang City, namely that the school needs to pay attention to the importance of aspects of students' social life so that students can develop as good and healthy individuals in carrying out social interactions in the school environment, in within the family and in the community. Apart from that, homeroom teachers need to translate school policies through educational activities that can increase social interaction between students at SDK Maria Assumpta, Kupang City

    The purpose of this study was to determine the efforts of Catholic Religious Education teachers in developing the affective abilities of students at RK Deli Murni Bandar Baru Junior High School. The informants in this study were PAK teachers, school principals, peer teachers and students. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with observation techniques, interviews and documentation. The findings of this study are the teacher presenting interesting material, looking neat while teaching, motivating students while teaching, building students' self-confidence by involving students taking turns leading prayers and singing when studying Catholicism. Students focus their attention on the teacher when explaining learning material
