    No full text
The Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS) is a household-based sample survey conducted by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA). It collects data on the labour market activities of individuals aged 15 years or older who live in South Africa. Starting in 2005, Stats SA undertook a major revision of the Labour Force Survey (LFS) which was conducted twice per year since 2000. This revision resulted in changes to the survey methodology, the survey questionnaire, the frequency of data collection and data releases, and the survey data capture and processing systems. The redesigned labour market survey is the QLFS which is now the principal vehicle for disseminating labour market information on a quarterly basis

The Survey of Activities of Young People (SAYP) reports on activities of young people aged 7–17 years. Marriages and Divorces, 2015

    No full text
There are three main sources of marriage and divorce statistics in South Africa; namely, those compiled from population censuses; household sample surveys and administrative data (i.e. those compiled from vital registration systems and administrative records). The data from these sources give different aspects of information on marriages and divorces in the country. Census and survey data are by nature subjective individual information that provides cross-sectional data on individuals’ marital status (never married, married, divorced, widowed, etc). Therefore, marriages and divorces in this context cover different types of marriages and associated divorces that took place at different periods in people’s lives. However, not all types of marriages and divorces are registered
