Data were analyzed qualitatively and descriptively.ResultsãThe role of a nursing manager who had completed a graduate degree in nursing was to "manage individuals and organizations with the confidence that they had completed graduate school," "use the knowledge and theories learned to solve problems in the department or organization," "demonstrate a firm view, nurture individuals, and provide patients with care that supported them in living their lives as they saw fit," "aim to improve the quality of nursing care, continue to maintain the perspectives of the practitioners and researchers, and nurture the organization," and âprovide personalized career support and increase the number of like-minded individuals to become a strong organization."DiscussionãRole behaviors were broadly classified into three categories: behaviors based on the recognition of one\u27s own role in the organization, as a nurse manager, and with the perspectives of a practitioner and researcher. Nursing managers recognized their own role as conveying learning from the perspectives of a practitioner and researcher

Regarding coping contents, 78 words and phrases were extracted, the most common being âimproving the quality of nursingâ. Using the multidimensional scaling method, coping contents were grouped into: Group I âtop management,â Group II âdemonstration of leadership,â Group III âstarting projects that meet local needs,â Group IV âdelegation of roles,â Group V âgaining understanding from others,â and Group VI, which included contents such as âawareness of oneâs position,â âgrasping the essence of problems,â âmanagement responsibility,â âfacing reality,â âbuilding a trusting relationship,â âsteady belief,â and âimproving the quality of nursing.âDiscussionãNursing directors of medium-sized hospitals need to deal with a variety of people centred on the nurse manager, cultivate management skills by coping with Group VI contents, and start projects that are needed in a regional hospital
