Situation Cognition for Social Robotics
The tacit understanding of situations is a fundamental aspect of human experience, behavior, and thinking. The paper argues that “situational stances” underly the tacit grasping of situations in human cognition. Contrary to, e.g., schema and script theories, situational stances are not conceived as conceptual knowledge structures used to interpret scenes or circumstances pregiven in perception. Rather, situational stances belong to the dispositional “Background” (Searle) that shapes and mediates immediate experience. Operative situational stances thus at least partly constitute situations as social-ontological entities. The paper elaborates the concept of situational stances and their function, as well as the outlines of a dynamic situation ontology that helps to understand the way human beings find themselves dynamically immersed in situations, alone and with others. The last part of the paper then analyzes possible consequences and risks of considering the peculiarities of this specific situationality of human cognition in social robotics and AI
Prescripto:Doctor Appointment Booking System using MongoDB, React and Node.Js
The Doctor Appointment Booking System is a web-based platform designed to simplify healthcare
appointment management. Developed using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js), it provides role based authentication for Patients, Doctors, and Admins, ensuring secure access. Patients can register, log in, book
appointments by selecting a doctor, date, and available time slot, and manage appointments by rescheduling or
canceling them. Secure online payment options enhance convenience. Doctors can create and update their profiles, set
availability, view scheduled appointments, and manage appointment statuses (completed, pending, or canceled). They
can also track earnings over time. Admins oversee the entire system, approving doctor profiles, managing patient
records, monitoring payments, and generating reports for performance analysis. Automated notifications and reminders
keep users informed about upcoming appointments. Security is ensured through JWT authentication, data encryption,
and role-based access control. The system features a responsive front-end built with React.js and Tailwind CSS and a
powerful back-end using Node.js and Express.js. By integrating modern technologies, it offers a seamless, secure, and
efficient healthcare appointment booking experience
Full-Stack Expence Management Syatem
In today’s digital era, effective financial management is paramount for both individuals and businesses
to ensure financial stability, informed decision-making, and long-term growth. The Expense Tracker project is designed
as a comprehensive solution to streamline the process of tracking, managing, and analyzing expenditures. This system
provides users with a structured, automated, and user-friendly platform to monitor their financial activities efficiently.
By allowing users to record transactions, categorize expenses, set budgetary limits, and generate insightful spending
reports, the application empowers them to make informed financial decisions in real time. The Expense Tracker is built
using React.js for an interactive and responsive front-end experience, Spring Boot for robust and scalable backend
processing, and SQL for efficient and secure database management. This technology stack ensures seamless
performance, secure data handling, and a smooth user experience. The system aims to eliminate manual errors
associated with expense tracking while offering advanced analytics that provide valuable insights into spending habits.
By leveraging data visualization and categorization techniques, users can identify unnecessary expenditures, optimize
their budgets, and work toward financial goals more effectively. One of the key objectives of this project is to enhance
financial planning by offering real-time analytics and notifications to help users stay within their budget limits.
Additionally, the application is designed to be scalable and future-ready, with potential integrations of AI-driven
financial insights to offer predictive expense recommendations and banking API integrations to automate transaction
logging. These features will further enhance the system’s ability to assist users in maintaining financial discipline and
improving their overall financial health. The Expense Tracker contributes to the rapidly evolving FinTech industry by
delivering an innovative, intuitive, and secure financial management solution. By equipping users with comprehensive
tools to oversee their financial activities, the application fosters better financial awareness, reduces overspending, and
helps users gain full control over their monetary decisions. With a commitment to continuous improvement and
adaptation to emerging financial technologies, this project serves as a stepping stone toward a more intelligent,
automated, and data-driven financial ecosystem

Transforming Sikh Spirituality with AI: Opportunities and Challenges
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping numerous aspects of human life, including healthcare, education, and entertainment. Spirituality and religion stand out as areas where AI holds transformative potential. Much like the printing press and digital platforms revolutionized the dissemination of religious teachings, AI offers new ways to enhance spiritual engagement. This article explores the intersection of AI, spirituality, and Sikhism, focusing on the opportunities, challenges, and ethical considerations involved
Why dignity is a troubling concept for AI ethics
The concept of dignity is proliferating in ethical, legal, and policy discussions of AI, yet dignity is an elusive term with multiple philosophical interpretations. The authors argue that the unspecific and uncritical employment of the notion of dignity can be counterproductive for AI ethics
The Representative Individuals Approach to Fair Machine Learning
The demands of fair machine learning are often expressed in probabilistic terms. Yet, most of the systems of concern are deterministic in the sense that whether a given subject will receive a given score on the basis of their traits is, for all intents and purposes, either zero or one. What, then, can justify this probabilistic talk? We argue that the statistical reference classes used in fairness measures can be understood as defining the probability that hypothetical persons, who are representative of social roles, will receive certain goods. We call these hypothetical persons “representative individuals.” We claim that what we owe to actual, concrete individuals—whose individual chances of receiving the good in the system might be extreme (i.e., either zero or one)—is that their representative individual has an appropriate probability of receiving the good in question. While less immediately intuitive than other approaches, we argue that the representative individual approach has important advantages over other ways of making sense of this probabilistic talk in the context of fair machine learning

The Evolution of Immersive Technology: A Comparative Study of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR)
Immersive technologies, particularly Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), have evolved
significantly in recent years, shaping a new frontier in human-computer interaction. These technologies are
revolutionizing industries such as entertainment, education, healthcare, and retail by providing users with unique and
interactive experiences. While AR and VR share similarities, such as enhancing user engagement and providing
immersive experiences, they differ significantly in terms of technology, application, and user experience. This paper
presents a comparative study of AR and VR, examining their technological foundations, applications, challenges, and
potential future developments
Transforming Teacher Education through Leadership and Curriculum Management in the 21st Century
The purpose of this study is to investigate the leadership strategies and curriculum management practices of the Program Chair responsible for the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) and Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) programs at a higher education institution. It focuses on the Program Chair's methods for fostering professional development, supporting faculty growth, and conducting program evaluations. For the methodology, a qualitative case study approach was used, incorporating semi-structured email interviews to collect information about the Program Chair's strategies for curriculum management, faculty development initiatives, and evaluation processes. The research findings indicate that effective leadership, which is rooted in ongoing professional development, collaborative decision-making, and faculty growth, is crucial for successful curriculum management. The study also emphasizes the need to incorporate 21st-century skills, digital literacy, and critical thinking into the curriculum. Furthermore, it shows that strong faculty development programs, including mentorship and professional development opportunities, enhance teaching practices and better equip graduates to meet the challenges of the 21st-century workforce. In conclusion, the study suggests that higher education institutions can greatly benefit from updated curricula, improved faculty development programs, data-driven evaluation systems, and modern learning environments to maintain the success and relevance of their teacher education programs. These recommendations offer practical insights for institutions aiming to enhance their teacher education offerings
