    Get PDF
The advancement of technology in society has significantly impacted urban development, particularly in Gorontalo Province, leading to increased mobility and activity among residents. This has resulted in the growth of residential buildings, places of worship, educational institutions, and shopping centers, with structures increasingly expanding vertically due to population growth. This study aims to compare the structural analysis of an 8-story reinforced concrete building using two lateral load-resisting systems: the Shear Wall System and the Special Moment-Resisting Frame (SMRF) System, analyzed using ETABS software. The findings reveal distinct structural behaviors between the two systems. The shear wall system exhibited a maximum inter-story drift of 38.367 mm in the x-direction and 7.840 mm in the y-direction, while the SMRF system showed 23.272 mm (x-direction) and 37.492 mm (y-direction). The most notable difference was observed in the y-direction, where the shear wall system demonstrated significantly lower drift values compared to the SMRF system. This indicates that the shear wall system provides better resistance to lateral displacements in high-rise buildings under similar conditions

This study aims to design a student dormitory in Tojo Una-Una, Gorontalo, that meets the needs and reflects the unique identity of the Tojo Una-Una region through a hybrid architectural approach. The method used is systematic design with data collection through field surveys, interviews with managers, and analysis of the physical and environmental conditions of the site. The design process is dynamic, using a feedback method to adjust the design to changes that occur. The results of the study show that the current student dormitory is still in the form of rented houses with inefficient infrastructure management. This has an impact on the quality of the site environment, such as limited land, inadequate space, chaotic access, and a lack of supporting facilities such as parking lots and canteens. These conditions have led many students from Tojo Una-Una to prefer living in rented rooms or public housing. Therefore, the dormitory design developed in this study is expected to provide a concrete solution to these issues while contributing significantly to the development of architectural theory and practice, particularly in the context of designing functional student housing facilities rooted in local values in the city of Gorontalo

This research aims to analyze the effect of the design of ventilation in residential houses at the Royal Residence on the direction of incoming wind flow to increase indoor thermal comfort. The research was carried out using quantitative methods, where values were taken by direct measurements at the location and then analyzed using CFD simulations Cradle CFD and Energy 2D. The research results show that the existing ventilation design of Casement Top Hung produces an average indoor wind speed of 0.281 m/s, not good enough to flow air into the room evenly, the Vertically Pivoted type produces an average wind speed of 1.28 m/s, and the air is channeled evenly so that the wind that enters the room provides thermal comfort to the occupants. The direction of the opening greatly influences the speed and distribution of incoming air to support air comfortable for people. The landscape greatly affects the placement of openings and the types of windows where wind can be spread throughout the room evenly to provide thermal comfort for occupants. These results can be used as an evaluation in trends of selection window types and for further research in improving the thermal comfort of residential in different landscape environmental conditions

The implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems is a crucial aspect in ensuring the sustainability and productivity of industries, including the bottled drinking water sector. However, many companies have yet to adopt safety standards in a systematic and continuous manner. This study aims to evaluate the extent of OHSMS implementation in an AMDK company located in Tilongkabila District and to identify influencing factors. The findings reveal that the OHS practices in the company are not yet optimal and do not comply with ISO 45001 standards. The absence of a dedicated OHS unit, low worker competency in safety matters, and weak management commitment are the main obstacles to effective implementation. These findings imply the need for a more integrative managerial approach and the strengthening of safety culture as part of an industrial sustainability strategy. This study is limited by its narrow geographic scope and qualitative, which does not include quantitative measurement of OHSMS effectiveness. Future research is recommended to employ mixed methods and involve multiple companies to achieve broader and deeper generalization. This research highlights that the success of OHSMS strongly depends on the synergy between policy, training, and an organizational culture that upholds safety as a core value
