    The Effect of Developed Program Based on of The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving - TRIZ- on The Development of Creativity and Innovation to The Gifted and Talented in Jordan

    This study aimed to show the effect of a training program on the creativity and innovation according to The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) in the development of thinking skills, creativity and innovation. It has been implemented on a sample of gifted and talented students in Al-Borj secondary school. The researcher has designed and built a comprehensive and complete training program, where he has chosen a group of basic skills in the theory of TRIZ and implemented the training program according it. By using the semi-experimental approach he divided the study sample into two groups; one of them was experimental where he applied the training program on and the other was just as adjuster where he has not applied the training program on. He has also applied the ability of creative thinking test (Torrance Test) on the two groups before and after applying the program. The results showed: no differences between the two groups before the applying the program whereas the difference was clear the two groups after the applying it where the favor was for the experimental group. The study recommended a set of recommendations one of them is to adopt and apply the program on all schools and centers that provide various services for the gifted and talented students due to its positive impact on the targeted sample.Keywords: Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ), Creativity, Innovation, Gifted, Talented

    The Impact of Using a Meaningful Learning Model in the Development of Math Communication Skills for the First Grade Secondary School, Yemen

    Abstract     The aim of this research was to know the impact of the meaningful learning model ,Advanced organizing strategy’ in developing math communication skills for the first grade of secondary school in Yemen.      To achieve this goal, a tool was designed to test math communication skills. After making sure of the validity and reliability of the test, it was applied to a sample of (100) female pupils, who were distributed into two groups; the first was the experimental group which was taught by using a meaningful learning model (advanced organizing strategy), and the control group which was taught by the traditional method. Also, an achievement pre-test of the pupils’ competence in the two groups was conducted to make sure they had equal competence. The statistical software (SPSS) was used during the design phase of the tools and testing of the hypotheses. The study revealed the following results:  the pupils of the experimental group who were taught using the advanced organizing strategy  outperformed the  pupils in the control group who were taught using the traditional method. Both the groups were taught the math communication skills under question in this research which include the skills of knowing math vocabulary, justifying problem solutions and math inferences, explaining and clarifying the mathematical relationships  in others’ understanding, representing the  relations in different ways, and the skill of using the Mathematics language for description.Key words: A meaningful learning model , Advanced organizing strategy , math communication skills

    Assessment of Quality Performance Indicators of Research at King Khalid University and Mechanisms for Improvement

    هدفت الدراسة إلى قياس مستوى توافر مؤشرات جودة البحث العلمي في ضوء التصنيفات الدولية بجامعة الملك خالد، وتحديد الآليات المناسبة التي يمكن أن تسهم في تحقيق جودة البحث العلمي بجامعة الملك خالد. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي وتطبيق استطلاع لقياس مؤشرات جودة البحث العلمي من خلال بيانات عمادة البحث العلمي، ثم تطبيق استبانة لمعرفة الآليات المناسبة التي يمكن أن تسهم في جودة البحث العلمي بجامعة الملك خالد على عينة من أعضاء هيئة التدريس بلغت ((681، وقد تم اختيار العينة بطريقة الحصر الشامل، وقد توصلت الدراسة الى أن الآليات المناسبة التي يمكن أن تسهم في تحقيق جودة البحث العلمي بجامعة الملك خالد المتعلقة بعضو هيئة التدريس جاءت بدرجة (كبيرة) بمتوسط حسابي (3.46)، والمتعلقة بالقسم والكلية جاءت بدرجة (كبيرة) بمتوسط حسابي (3.46)، أما المتعلقة بالإدارة الجامعية فقد جاءت بدرجة (متوسطة) بمتوسط حسابي (3.37)، وكذلك المتعلقة بالمجتمع الخارجي جاءت بدرجة (كبيرة) بمتوسط حسابي (3.45)، وعدم وجود فرق دال إحصائياً في محاور الاستبانة حول (نوع الكلية- التخصص)، وتوصلت الدراسة إلى تسويق البحث العلمي من خلال التقنية الحديثة، ودعم البحث العلمي مادياً ومالياً، وعمل المقارنات المرجعية في مجال البحث العلمي، وإعداد سياسة عادلة للملكية الفكرية، وتشجيع أعضاء هيئة التدريس على الترقية العلمية، وحضور برامج تدريبية في مجال البحث العلمي. الكلمات المفتاحية: المؤشرات، التصنيف، جودة البحث العلمي، آليات التحسين.The study aimed to assess quality performance indicators of scientific research in light of international ranking at King Khalid University and to identify appropriate mechanisms that can contribute to the quality of scientific research at King Khalid University. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive method was used by administering a survey to measure the quality indicators of scientific research by using the data provided by the Deanship of Scientific Research. A questionnaire was also used to identify the appropriate mechanisms that could contribute to the quality of scientific research at King Khalid University to a sample of (681) faculty members selected by the complete census method. The study findings revealed that the appropriate mechanisms that can contribute to the quality of scientific research at King Khalid University that are related to the faculty members scored (high) degree at a mean of (3.46); and those related to the department and the college scored (high) degree at a mean of (3.46). Those related to university administration scored a medium degree at a mean of (3.37), whereas those related to the external community scored (high) degree at a mean of (3.45). There was no statistically significant difference in the questionnaires about (type of college - specialization). The study recommended that research should be marketed by modern technology, provide logistic and financial support to research, make reference comparisons in the field of scientific research, prepare a fair policy for intellectual property, encourage faculty members to get promoted and attend training programs in the field of research.     Management of Excellence in Higher Education According to the European Model of Excellence: A Study Case of College of Education – Skikda

    تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة درجة تطبيق عناصر إدارة التميز وفق النموذج الأوروبي للتميز EFQM بكلية التربية سكيكدة. وقد تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتكونت العينة من الأساتذة الدائمين بعمل الحصر الشامل للمجتمع الذي بلغ عدده (95) أستـاذا، وتم الاستعانة بأداة الاستبيان لجمع البيانات اللازمة لتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، وللتأكد من صدق الأداة تم حساب معاملات الارتباط، وألفا كرونباخ للتحقق من الثبات، حيث بلغ هذا الأخير 0.964، وتوصلت النتائج إلى أن مستوى تطبيق النموذج الأوروبي للتميز في التعليم العالي بالكلية بلغ نسبة 71 %، وبناء عليها توصلت الدراسة إلى تقديم عدة توصيات، أبرزها زيادة الاهتمام بتطبيق النموذج الأوروبي لإدارة التميز من قبل إدارة الكلية، وتوضيح أهمية وفوائد تبنيه للوزارة الوصية والأطراف ذات المصلحة. الكلمات المفتاحية: إدارة التميز، النموذج الأوروبي للتميز EFQM، كلية التربية سكيكدة.This study aimed to identify the degree of application of excellence management elements according to the European Model of Excellence (EFQM) at the College of Education of Skikda.  To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analytical method was used on 95 fulltime professors, selected by the complete census method, participated in the study. To collect data, a questionnaire was used after checking its validity and reliability by calculating the coefficients of correlation and alpha Cronbach where the latter was 0.964. The results showed that the level of application of the European model of excellence in the faculty of education was 71%. It was recommended therefore that more attention and focus should be made to the European model of excellence management by the college administration. The importance and benefits of adopting this recommendation should be made clear to the ministry as well as to other stakeholders.
