The Current Situation of Retired Racehorses: Towards the Utilisation for Tourism

人類とウマとの歴史は長く、食用、運搬用、乗用、軍用と様々な形でウマを活用してきた。現在、日本では競馬で活躍するウマが多い。ウマに興味を持ち、インターネットやSNS で多くの情報を得るようになると多数の競走用軽種馬が競馬を引退した後、行き場を失っている事実を知ることになる。近年、引退競走馬を支援する活動は広がりを見せており、観光での利活用への期待もある。本稿では、引退競走馬の2024 年現在の状況について、文献調査の結果を中心にまとめてみたい。Human beings have used horses for various purposes, such as food, carriages, riding and the military. At present, most horses in Japan are produced and trained for racing. According to various information on the Internet and social media, a number of these horses will eventually disappear when they retire from horse racing, and this disappearance is probably owing to slaughter. Recently, activities in order to safeguard retired racehorses have increased, and it is also expected that some retired racehorses will be used in tourism. In this article, the current situation of retired racehorses in Japan is described mainly based on literature reviews.departmental bulletin pape

Reexamination of Career Education for Modern University Students from the Perspective of Labor Law: With Reference to the Argument for Reorganizing the Role of Labor and Employment Law in Labor Market Transactions

「労働市場の変化と労働法の課題－新たなサポート・システムを求めて」という1994 年に公刊された論文を参考にして、現代の大学生のキャリア教育の再検討を試みた。具体的には、日本の労働市場及び就業構造の変化に伴った大学生などのキャリア教育の従来の在り方に対する疑問及び批判的な検討がなされている状況を踏まえ、労働市場取引における労働法の役割の再編成論を参考にして、現代の大学生のキャリア教育について再検討した。Attempted to reexamine career education for modern university students by referring to a paper published in 1994 entitled “Changes in the Labor Market and Issues in Labor Law - Seeking a New Support System.” Specifically, in light of the current situation in which doubts and critical examinations are being made about the traditional approach to Career Education for University Students and others in response to changes in Japan’s Labor Market and Employment Structure, I reexamined Career Education for Modern University Students by referring to the theory of reorganizing the role of Labor and Employment Law in Labor Market Transactions.departmental bulletin pape

Taiwan Training Program: Exploring New Possibilities in Overseas Training and Visualizing Effectiveness

グローバルな舞台で活躍できる人材の育成が重要性を増す中、多摩大学グローバルスタディーズ学部では、全学生の海外訪問の機会の設定を目指している。本研究は、海外渡航プログラム増設に向けて、海外研修の新たな可能性を探索すべく、教員のアセットを活用した台湾研修プログラムを実施する。本研究の目的は、設計した台湾研修プログラムの記録、研修効果の測定、効果の可視化である。夏休みに6 泊7 日で台湾研修を行い、プログラムの設計、準備、運営、課題と留意点について記録した。研修におけるジェネリックスキルの成長を測定するため、「旅と学びの汎用ツール」と「IDGs 指標」の2 つのツールを用いて、研修前後で参加者のジェネリックスキルの変化を測定し、参加者個々の変化、成長を示した。今後の課題は、本プログラムの改善とさらなる海外研修プログラムの探究、プログラム全体の効果測定と可視化である。With the increasing importance of fostering globally active human resources, the School of Global Studies, Tama University, aims to provide opportunities for all students to visit abroad. This study will implement a training program in Taiwan to develop generic skills by leveraging faculty resources to explore new possibilities for overseas training. The purpose of this study is to document the program, measure the effectiveness of the training, and visualize the effects. The training program in Taiwan was conducted, and we documented the program design, preparation, operation, and considerations. To measure the growth of generic skills in the training, two tools, the Travel and Learning Generic Tool and the IDGs Indicators, were used to measure changes in participants' generic skills before and after the training. The results indicated changes and growth for each participant. Future research will focus on improving the Taiwan program, exploring additional overseas training opportunities, and measuring and visualizing the program's overall effectiveness.departmental bulletin pape

A Study on the Effectiveness of Nihonbashi’s Local Educational Materials: Through the Lense of Primary School Classroom Practice

日本橋川にかかる日本橋がある周辺地域は、現在、再開発の真最中である。日本橋や日本橋地域には受け継がれる伝統があり、人々が多く集まり、魅力ある場所となっているため、歴史、文化、建築等について、数多くの研究が存在する。多くの調査研究が行われている一方で、小学校に在籍している子ども達の学びとして日本橋地域を活用している教育関連内容の研究論文はほとんどない。そこで、筆者の勤務校における、授業実践を取り上げ、検討や分析をし、日本橋地域の地域教材における有効性の一考察とした。The area around Nihonbashi where it spans the Nihonbashi River is currently being redeveloped. This area has its own traditions that have been passed down, and is a fascinating gathering spot for many people. Because of this, numerous studies on its history, culture, architecture, etc. can be found. However, despite the amount of studies, there are almost no education-related research papers on the Nihonbashi area from the perspective of those enrolled in primary school. This paper fills that gap by both laying out and analysing the classroom practice of the author`s primary school classes which utilized teaching materials local to the Nihonbashi area.departmental bulletin pape

Research on“ Children’s University” for Elementary School Students -Practice of Inquiry Learning at Machikado Children’s University

本稿では、小学生を対象とした探究学習の研究として、ドイツのこども 大学の概念・システムを参照しつつ、日本の文科省が要求する探究授業に合致 するような教育要素の抽出と、その教育実践について検討した。「なぜ」「どう」 を起点とした探究型の講義について、2023 年度の講座の実施および効果測定ア ンケートから、マチカドこども大学Ⓡを受講することによって、「総合的な学習 の時間で育成することを目指す資質・能力」が向上する可能性が示された。また、 「知識・技能」については、受講生である小学生自身の評価や、保護者から見た 受講生の能力が向上していた。In this paper, as a study of Inquiry Learning for elementary school students, we examined the extraction of educational element and its educational practice that would match the inquiry-based class required by the Japanese Ministry of Education, referring to the concept and system of the German Children’s University. The implementation of the course in 2023 and the effectiveness measurement questionnaire for the inquiry-based lectures that started with “why” and “how” indicated the possibility of improving the “qualities and abilities aimed to be cultivated in the period for integrated studies” by attending Machikado Children’s University. In addition, the elementary school students’ own evaluations of their knowledge and skills, as well as the abilities of the students as seen by their parents, were improved.departmental bulletin pape
