How Many Refugees in Africa?
No-one really knows how many people have been forcibly uprooted by political instability and war,but the estimated numbers of refugees hosted by African counuies are shown on the map. These do not include the possibly additional thousands labelled "illigal aliens" and hounded by unfriendly hosts, or the millions of people who have been uprooted whithin their own national boundaries by the same causes. Most alarming, the numben of uprooted people in Africa are increasing

Sixty-four Vietnamese Chinese refugees were asked to report "What happened during the flight?" as part of a survey conducted by Lawrence Lam of York University. The chart lists the events most frequently experienced by these "boat people.

Canadian Foundation for Refugees Plans Refugee Newsletter
Above is an excerpt from a letter sent to me by the Canadian Foundation for Refugees. Why is the Foundation planning to produce such a newsletter when Refuge is already being published? Further, the proposed contents of the newsletter overlap ours. This is a waste of government funds. One or the other should not be published. We would like to hear the views of our readers
