Genus one factors of curves defined by separated variable polynomials

We give some sufficient conditions on complex polynomials P and Q to assure that the algebraic plane curve P(x)-Q(y)=0 has no irreducible component of genus 0 or 1. Moreover, if deg (P)=deg (Q) and if both P, Q satisfy Hypothesis I introduced by H. Fujimoto, our sufficient conditions are necessary

IMPACT OF AMPK ACTIVATOR METFORMIN ON SPERM QUALITY

Semen cryopreservation allows crucial management of animal genetic diversity. However, the freeze-thaw process causes biochemical and physical alterations, impairing sperm energy-dependent functions. Currently, many chemicals are added to the media to enhance frozen-thawed sperm quality during artificial insemination. The aims of this study was to determine the effects of Metformin (Metf) on fresh chicken sperm motility and ability to perform acrosome reaction, and to evaluate Metf’s effects on the functions of cryopreserved sperm. Chicken semen was diluted and incubated at 35°C in media supplemented with or without different doses of 5’-AMP-Activated Protein Kinase (AMPK) activator, Metf (0,5 to 5 mM). We then looked for the concentration improving the most sperm quality to use it in the cryopreservation media used for chicken sperm. Our results show that 1 mM Metf is the concentration giving the best results regarding sperm quality. AMPKα phosphorylation, viability, acrosome reaction ability (AR), and various motility parameters, were negatively affected by the freeze-thaw process, and that Metf partially restored them. Sperm quality improved (mean increased by 23% for motility, by 10% for viability) as well as AMPKα phosphorylation (mean increased by 30%). Moreover, fluorescent intensity levels of phospho-AMPK were also stronger with Metf than in the control. These results show that the presence of Metf in fresh semen has a positive impact on the quality of sperm and helps reducing the gradual decline in sperm motility caused by cryopreservation by partially restoring several essential sperm functions, and thus leads to a better overall quality of cryopreserved sperm

Effect of fluoxetine on cyclic adenosine monophosphate response to follicle-stimulating hormone in HEK cells

Fluoxetine is an antidepressant that acts as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Fluoxetine has exhibited different mechanisms of action on many different cell lines. In this study, the effect of fluoxetine on cAMP production in human embryonic kidney (HEK) cells under the stimulation of bovine follicle-stimulating hormone were examined. HEK cells were incubated for 60 minutes with fluoxetine at different concentrations (0, 6.25, 12.5, 25 and 50 ÎĽM), and then cAMP accumulation, ATP level, and AMPK phosphorylation and cell viability were tested. Our results showed that fluoxetine at 25 and 50 ÎĽM attenuated cAMP levels in cells after bFSH stimulation. The depletion of cAMP at this concentration is accompanied by a decrease in ATP energy and an increased capacity to phosphorylate AMPK. As such, this study showed that fluoxetine induces a reduction in cAMP accumulation and that it is associated with the AMPK pathway in HEK cell

Further Discussion On Applying Case Study Method In Investment Law Course – A Case Of Education Investment In Vietnam

Purpose: The aim of this study is to focus on clarifying using case study method to improve taching law course. Currently, many universities around the world are applying a new teaching method. It can help students absorb knowledge more efficiently and faster. That is the case study. Using a Case Study allows a deeper understanding of cases as a unit, through comparing the similarities and differences of individual cases. Design/methodology/approach: The study uses qualitative analysis, synthesis and inductive methods, together with studies and references from CPTPP, FTA Agreement, as well as Regulations on assurance of business investment activities. Findings: The application of this method to teaching helps learners to approach very applicable situations. The situations or problems close to the theory will also help them to systematize all the knowledge they have learned to apply to solve the assigned problem. Not only use the knowledge learned, but also learn related knowledge outside the program to solve the problem. Case Study is an extremely interesting and interesting learning method, helping us to associate reality and apply it to solve problems and help us remember longer. If you really understand what a case study is, then apply it to your life and work. The results show the regulations on guaranteeing ownership rights as well as ensuring investors' business investment activities have been clearly stipulated in the 2020 Labor Law of Vietnam. These regulations have concretized the constitutional principle of investors' freedom to invest and do business in industries that are not prohibited by la

Basis for the development of criteria for monitoring the implementation of land laws in Vietnam

This paper is one of the newest studies which focuses on the issue of monitoring the land law implementation in Vietnam. The research clarifies the basic concepts related to monitoring the implementation of land law comprehensively. Also, in the context of Vietnamese legislation system has not regulated a sufficient criteria system in this issue, the author developed a suitable criteria system in order to enhance the efficiency of monitoring the implementation of land law in Vietnam. To reach the goal, the author used both of qualititative and quantitative methods to carrying out the research. Especially, the author collected the huge amount of data which covered doing structured interviews from 23 provinces in Vietnam to gain the results comprehensively and objectively. The author also worked in consultation with people working in land sector and relevant experts by doing unstructured interviewed. The experts had an opportuinity to express their views on the status quo on land and suggest the content of the criterias in monitoring the implementation of land law. The results reveal that the majority of interviewees point out difficulties related to the lack of the criteria and suggest that they should be developed immediately. The system of criterias in the research is expected to become the basis for monitoring the implementation of land law in Vietnam effectively

Indochinese bamboos: biodiversity informatics to assist the identification of “vernacular taxa”

Bamboo (Bambusoides – Gramineae) is one of the most important natural resource in Southeast Asia. However, bamboo identification has many difficulties. In the area of SEP programme «Indochina Bamboos» (2008-2010), the final objective is to update the bamboo flora of Indochine (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodege) and to publish an e-flora including free access keys, digital images and information about the traditional and economic use of bamboos. During field trips in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodgia, samples, pictures and morphological description sheets were collected in various locations and previously assigned to the local vernacular names. We use an informatic program, Xper2, to assist the comparison and identification of “vernacular bamboo taxa” based on morphological characteristics
