Periferias genéricas: la crónica y el documental frente a las urbanizaciones privadas

En la Argentina de la primera década del siglo XXI, las urbanizaciones cerradas fueron escenario de diversas obras de ficción literaria y fílmica que parecían hacer eco a la atención mediática que reclamaban tanto la consolidación del fenómeno como una serie de hechos policiales de amplia repercusión. Sin embargo, resultaron prácticamente ausentes de los géneros no-ficcionales del cine y la literatura tradicionalmente enfocados a la representación de lo marginal. Ese virtual vacío llama la atención sobre el documental La ciudad que huye (2006) de Lucrecia Martel y la crónica Mundo privado. Historias de vida en countries, barrios privados y ciudades cerradas (2007) de Patricia Rojas. Por su singularidad, los dos permiten pensar no solo las posibilidades narrativas del barrio privado sino las configuraciones genéricas y los imaginarios que se les asocian y que parecen entrar en contradicción con estos espacios vinculados al privilegio. Palabras claves: No ficción, barrios cerrados, literatura y cine.In the first decade of the XXI century Argentina, gated communities were the setting of a wide number of filmic and literary fictions that seemed to echo the attention the media was giving to the phenomenon due to its consolidation and the impact of a series of crimes that took place in them. However, they remained absent from non-fiction both in literature and film, genres traditionally concerned with the representation of the margin. This virtual representational void calls attention to the documentary short La ciudad que huye (Lucrecia Martel, 2006) and Mundo privado. Historias de vida en countries, barrios privados y ciudades cerradas (Patricia Rojas, 2007). These works uniqueness enables us to ponder on the spaces narrative possibilities, on non-fiction as genre and on its usual themes and subjects that seem to reject these privileged scenarios. Valores y creencias en el proceso de modernización

El objetivo de este trabajo es conocer el cambio de valores habido en la población andaluza en los últimos diez años y determinar, a partir de ahí, su grado de modernización. Para ello, se han seguido dos criterios conjuntamente: uno comparativo y otro teórico. El primero, una comparación de los datos de Andalucía con los de Cataluña. Por su parte, el criterio teórico se basa en la teoría de la modernización desarrollada por Inglehart y Welzel (2006). Los resultados del trabajo confirman la hipótesis de partida: la distancia entre ambas comunidades aumenta con el cambio de valores ocurrido en los últimos años, tanto en la proporción de materialistas como en la de post-materialistas. To achieve this aim, two methods have been followed: one comparative and another one theoretical. Translatio et compilatio en la Flor de las ystorias de Orient de Juan Fernández de Heredia

This article includes a series of reflections on the processes of translatio of the Flor de las ystorias de Orient from the original French text to Aragonese alleged romance version of Maestre Heredia, with the possibility of the existence of an intermediate version in Catalan, and the compilatio of the same Heredia’s version in the Segunda Partida of the Corónica de los Conquiridores. The ecdotics approaches and linguistic archeology will allow to better illuminate into the preparations of the previous work material for the translation of the Escorial manuscript and subsequent compilation in the Corónica de los Conquiridores.El presente trabajo recoge una serie de reflexiones acerca de los procesos de translatio, de la Flor de las ystorias de Orient desde el texto original francés hacia la versión romance en pretendido aragonés del Maestre Heredia, contemplando la posibilidad de la existencia de una versión intermedia en catalán, y de compilatio de la misma versión herediana en la Segunda Partida de la Corónica de los Conquiridores. Los planteamientos ecdóticos y la arqueología lingüística permitirán iluminar mejor cómo fueron los preparativos del material de trabajo previo para la traducción del manuscrito del códice escurialense y su posterior compilación en la Corónica de los Conquiridores

Las políticas de prevención de drogodependencias en las comunidades autónomas españolas :debilidades y fortalezas

Actualmente, la prevención es la estrategia prioritaria en la lucha contra las drogodependencias en España. No obstante, todavía existen problemas en la planificación y la evaluación de sus políticas, especialmente en el ámbito autonómico. En este trabajo, tras una evaluación diagnóstica basada en técnicas cuantitativas y cualitativas, se reflejan los principales rasgos y carencias de las políticas de prevención en las comunidades autónomas. Con ello, se pretende realizar una aportación al estudio y a la investigación de esta línea de actuación.Nowadays, drug prevention is the main performance objective of drugs policies in Spain. Nevertheless, there are still notable shortcomings in planning and evaluation of these policies, especially concerning the Autonomous Regions. In this paper, across a diagnostic evaluation based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative techniques, the principal features and shortcomings about autonomic prevention policies are provided. The obtained results are considered of great utility

Reflexionando sobre el envejecimiento desde la sociología: estado de la cuestión y perspectivas de futuro

A pesar de que los expertos definen el envejecimiento de la población como el problema social más importante del siglo XXI, las investigaciones más recientes sobre la sociología de la vejez, ponen de manifiesto que todavía nos encontramos estancados en algunos aspectos que obstaculizan el correcto avance de la disciplina. Entre ellos, la falta de acuerdos sobre las perspectivas teóricas y la dificultad de establecer los límites de la misma. A partir de estos retos, el objetivo de este trabajo es repasar la actividad científica realizada sobre el envejecimiento y, consecuentemente, dar luz al futuro análisis empírico del mismo. Con este propósito, se realiza un recorrido por dicho fenómeno a través de una revisión de los artículos publicados en las revistas académicas más especializadas, fundamentalmente de los debates más actuales, y se concluye con algunas propuestas de análisis de la vejez en las sociedades contemporáneas

H.D: sublimity and beauty in her early work (1912-1925)

The purpose of this thesis is to study the poetry written by H.D. between 1912- 1925 in relation to two Romantic categories: beauty and sublimity. I shall attempt to show how H.D. subverts and revises the Romantic sublime offering alternatives that can be identified with a "female sublime". A direct consequence of such revision will be her commitment to beauty, which acts in her poems as a generative drive. Her understanding of beauty will be shown to have its roots in Sappho, Plato and the Victorian Hellenists, among others, and to have undergone analogous transformations to those of sublimity. Chapter I reopens the debate around Imagism and Imagist poetry showing that the problem of defining what Imagism is or was originates in the overwhelming authority of theory versus praxis. My goal is to deconstruct the critical fallacies on which Imagism has been built and to free the poetry which it represents. This allows me to question the myth of H.D. as "Imagiste" and to open her early poetry to new readings and interpretations. In Chapter n, I review the theoretical background to the aesthetics of the sublime represented by Longinus, Burke, Kant and Wordsworth. I also establish the critical frame within which this research will take place, drawing on Thomas Weiskel, Patricia Yaeger and Joanne Diehl. I initiate a study of sublimity in H.D.'s first volume, Sea Garden, and show the alternative treatment that this Romantic genre receives from this female poet. H.D.'s revisions of the Romantic sublime take us in Chapter m to a study of her poetics, as presented in her essay "Notes on Thought and Vision". I discuss a variety of sources for the composition of these "Notes", such as Havelock Ellis' influence, H.D.'s letters to John Cournos and her friendship with D.H. Lawrence. I show how H.D. understands artistic and poetic creativity as 'vision' and how the recovery of the abject female body allows her to formulate a notion of creativity that transcends gender. Chapter IV, pursues H.D.'s transformations of the Romantic sublime in Hymen, and presents Sappho as a model for the fusion of sublimity, love and eroticism in the poems of this volume. Chapter V begins with a theoretical discussion surrounding the aesthetics of the beautiful in relation to Chapter II. It continues with H.D.'s understanding of beauty within her essays, in particular, "Responsibilities", "Notes on Thought and Vision" and "Notes on Euripides, Pausanius and Greek Lyric Poets". In the light of recent work on Pater's masculine model of Hellenic beauty, I discuss H.D.'s own configuration of beauty

Welfare Policies and Solidarity Toward the Elderly

In this paper we analyze the effect of welfare policies oriented toward the elderly on solidarity toward the elderly in a sample of European countries. The research question is whether more generous welfare policies crowd out solidarity. For this purpose, we analyze four waves of the SHARE database. We use multilevel analysis to estimate the effect of national variables on transfers toward the elderly, controlling for individual level variables. At the national level we focus on the effect of public spending on policies oriented toward the elderly after controlling for some other relevant variables, such as the proportion of elderly people, female labor force participation and unemployment. Our results indicate that expenditure in social protection toward the elderly has a positive and significant (albeit moderate) effect on the economic support received by the elderly (which is in line with the Crowding-in hypothesis). However, in the case of time transfers, we find that expenditure in social protection toward the elderly has a negative and significant impact on the time transfers received by the elderly (which is consistent with the Crowding-out hypothesis).Universidad de Málaga.
