The euro after the fall of Lehman Brothers as a suitable or unsuitable future currency for the Czech Republic

Abstract

This bachelor work engages in the adoption of the euro in the Czech Republic. The objective was, whether the adoption of the euro is advantageous for the Czech Republic. A theoretical ground how a monetary union should function is mentioned in the first chapter. The American financial crisis and its impacts on the real economy are stated in the second chapter for a comprehensive view on the Eurozone crisis. The problems of the Eurozone are analyzed in the following chapter. The fourth chapter summarizes direct and indirect benefits and costs for the membership in a monetary union. The author deals with readiness for the adoption of the euro in the Czech Republic in the fifth chapter. The last chapter consists of the comprehensive reasoning about the adoption of the common European currency in the Czech Republic
