The present paper has as its objective to demonstrate the use of strategic management
concepts in managerial organizations in small enterprises, thus unconsciously considered by its
main agent. So, it presents bibliographical revision on the relative theoretical concepts of the
managerial strategy and competitive strategies, specifically the SWOT matrix, and Porter’s Five
Competitive Forces. The case study of the enterprise, Ensacadeiras Sat Paraná Ltd. is used,
which besides being considered as a small enterprise, it promoted a series of technological
innovations during its ten years of existence, even with its registration as industrial property,
without the structured use of management tools. The article tries to demonstrate that the agents
make the intuitive use of these tools, concluding that, if on one part, the absence of a formal
structure does not impede an enterprise of developing strategies, on the other hand, of another; it
can mean the non exploration of the whole available potential, within an organizatio
