We are an organization of librarians who are employed in court, law firm, corporate legal department, and law school · libraries. Our membership encompasses over 500 individuals from the twelve southeastern states and Puerto Rico. We would like to encourage your students to consider law librarianship as they plan their careers. This is a very dynamic specialization and offers employment opportunities ranging from large academic or law firm libraries to one-person court or small firm libraries. Law libraries are frequently on the cutting edge of library technology and information management. We encourage student membership in the association and I have enclosed several of our membership application forms. Please feel free to photocopy them as needed. A subscription to the quarterly newsletter The Southeastern Law Librarian is included in the membership dues. The newsletter contains articles discussing the chapter's activities, legal research source materials, and placement notices. The Southeastern Chapter holds two meetings during the year. our annual meeting is held in the spring at various locations around the region. A typical schedule for this meeting includes a variety of programs to meet the needs of our diverse membership.
