THE INJURIES PATTERNS OF TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
TO PEDESTRIAN AND MOTORCYCLE DRIVER AT
RSUP M. DJAMIL PADANG PERIOD 2015

ABSTRACT
Road traffic injuries are currently become the eighth leading cause of death across all age groups globally. Every cases of traffic accidents cause the various of some injuries pattern. The injuries pattern is depending by the interaction of road user in traffic injuries. This study aimed to obtain some information about injuries pattern of accident traffic cases of pedestrian and motorcycle driver at RSUP Dr.M Djamil Padang period 2015.
This study designed in descriptive. The subject of study involved medical records data of road traffic injuries at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang period 2015. The sample was taken by total sampling method with amount of data is 814 cases. Then data was analyzed by univariate.
The results showed that 814 cases of road traffic injuries which are 160 pedestrians and 654 motorcycle drivers. The victims of traffic injuries were mostly aged 1-10 years for pedestrian and aged 11 – 20 years for motorcycle driver. The victims dominated by male. Most number of injuries pattern of pedestrian and motorcycle driver was superficial injuries which 173 injuries and 550 injuries. Most location of injuries was found on the face of 71,9% pedestrian and 63,5% motorcycle driver.
The suggestion of study aims to parents for intensively watching children in order to reduce road traffic injuries of pedestrian and to Traffic Police for controlling motorcycle driver under the appropriate age to have driver-license.
