Foram utilizados sete bubalinos da raça Mediterrâneo, com idade inicial média de 15 meses e peso inicial médio de 175 kg, para verificar o efeito do estresse térmico pelo calor em câmara climática, sobre alguns parâmetros bioquímicos do sangue e consumo de ração. Os animais foram divididos em dois grupos: controle (T1) e testemunha (T2), submetidos à temperatura e umidade relativa médias de 21,5 C - 76,5% UR e 38,05 °C - 59% UR, respectivamente. O estresse térmico provocou diminuição (P <0,01) da percentam de hematócrito (31,68% x 29,07%), uréia (31,28 x 22,68 mg%) consumo de ração (7,15 x 5,54 kg MS) e aumento (P < 0,01) da concentração sérica de creatinina (1,22 x 1,72 mg%).Seven Mediterranean buffaloes, aged 15 months and weighing 175kg each were used with purpose 01 studying the effect of heat stress on some biochemical parameters and feed intake of buffaloes. The animals were divided into two groups: control (T1) and experimental (T2), maintained under natural ambient 121.5 ºC - 76.5% UR) and heat stress (38.05 0C -59% UR) respectively. The results obtained for the experimental group, subjected to heat stress, as compared to the control, were: decrease (P < .01) in the hematocrit (31.68% x 29.07%), urea (31.28 x 22.68) and feed intake (7.15 x 5.54 kg MS), and increase (P <.01) in creatinine serum concentration (1.22 x 132 mg%)
