This research project investigates the quality of the working lives of Victorian women in the film, television and related industries (including digital media and games). BACKGROUND This research was funded by the Malcolm Moore Industry Research Grant, which is awarded for industry-partnered research projects. The late Malcolm Moore established this award through a perpetual bequest donated to RMIT; French was the recipient of the inaugural grant. This ork was supported by: Women In Film and Television (WIFT, Vic); Sue Maslin, Independent Film Producer (Film Art Media); The Australian Writers&#039; Guild (AWG, Vic.); The Australian Film Institute (AFI); The Victorian Women&#039;s Trust; Film Victoria; and The Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM). Screen Hub assisted with promoting the survey to industry. Consultant Jonathan Sargent (Stats On) was engaged to produce a quantitative report, including tables, and material from this collated data appears in this final report. French has a broad range of experience in screen culture, including extensive curatorial, leadership and management experience. She was the Director of the St Kilda Film Festival for 3 years, and served 9 years as a Director of the AFI. CONTRIBUTION This research project investigates the quality of the working lives of Victorian women in the film, television and related industries (including digital media and games). SIGNIFICANCE The late Malcolm Moore established this award through a perpetual bequest donated to RMIT; French was the recipient of the inaugural grant. The report has been used by supporter organisations in planning and training and French has been called on by industry and media representatives as an authority on women and employment in screen media
