Ives (1874-1954) Karen Patton Hall, was educated in Texas at the University of Houston, where she graduated with bachelor of music and master of music degrees in vocal performance, with studies at the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg, Austria. This summer she begins work towards a doctorate in vocal performance at Indiana University. Ms. Hall has performed in opera, operetta, concert, oratorio, recital, chamber music and music theatre throughout the United States, most notably on the PBS special Masterclass with soprano, Elisabeth Schwarzkoph, with the Seattle Opera, Seattle Symphony, Seattle Civic Light Opera, Hidden Valley Opera, and the Seattle Choral Company. She is a five time Metropolitan Opera Regional Finalist and has won awards from the Texas Federation of Music Clubs, the Vocal Arts Foundation in San Francisco and the Eleanor Anderson Lieber Awards sponsored by Portland Opera. She has been on the voice faculty at the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam, St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York and the Louisville Academy of Music. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and was recently chosen by that organization as one of their Teaching Interns. Native New Yorker, John Patton, is a man of many talents. He has performed in numerous theatrical productions, participated in various choral groups, and has enjoyed playing the guitar in coffeehouses throughout the northeast. He graduated from Hartwick College with a bachelors degree in philosophy and has begun work towards the masters degree in education at St. Lawrence University. A professional piano technician, he has worked for the past twenty years in the piano industry as Director of Technical Services and Manager for Quality Assurance at the Aeolian Corporation, which manufactured Mason & Hamlin, Chickering, and Knabe pianos. Later he became Vice President of Manufacturing for Falcone Piano Company, followed by ownership of his private piano business-Patton Pianocraft. After having been the Piano Technician at the Crane School of Music and the University of Louisville, he is currently the Plant Manager of the Mason & Hamlin Piano Company in Haverhill, Massachusetts.
