This work had as objective to know the impact of the environmental changes in the competitive strategies of the companies that act in the section of supermarkets of Campina Grande/Pb. The research developed itself under a qualitative methodology, through the analysis of three cases. The referred study was accomplished as in the literature on business strategy, specifically on competitive strategies, taking as reference a more dynamic perspective, having as unit of analysis the sequence of competitive actions undertaken by the organizations The results of the research show that the main environmental changes occurred in the referred section consisted in the adoption of new technologies of information and in the way to manage the activities. Such changes had a strong impact on the competitive strategies of the studied companies, leading such companies to adopt several tactical and innovation actions. As for the form of competing, such companies present aggressive posture, competitive complexity and competitive homogeneity, and, as for the content of the competitive actions, the innovation actions and the tactical actions stand outEste trabalho teve como objetivo conhecer o impacto das mudanças ambientais nas estratégias competitivas das empresas que atuam no setor de supermercados de Campina Grande/Pb. A pesquisa desenvolveu-se sob uma metodologia qualitativa, através da análise de três casos. O referido estudo foi realizado com na literatura sobre estratégia empresarial, especificamente sobre estratégias competitivas, tomando como referência uma perspectiva mais dinâmica, tendo como unidade de análise a seqüência de ações competitivas empreendidas pelas organizações Os resultados da pesquisa mostram que as principais mudanças ambientais ocorridas no referido setor consistiram na adoção de novas tecnologias de informação e na maneira de gerenciar as atividades. Tais mudanças tiveram um forte impacto nas estratégias competitivas das empresas estudadas, levando tais empresas a adotarem diversas ações táticas e de inovação. Quanto à forma de competir, tais empresas apresentam postura agressiva, complexidade competitiva e homogeneidade competitiva, e, quanto ao conteúdo das ações competitivas, destacam-se as ações de inovação e as ações tática
